6-inch Micromax Canvas Doodle 4 launches in India

26 May, 2015

If you're a fan of the Canvas Doodle series of huge phablets from Indian manufacturer Micromax, you're in luck. The company just launched the latest model in the line.

The Canvas Doodle 4 comes to succeed its predecessor from last year. It keeps the Doodle 3's 6-inch screen size, but ups the resolution. That said, there's some debate as to what the new one is. According to a usually reliable phone seller in Mumbai, it's 720p HD. On the other hand, the eBay listing for the Canvas Doodle 4 says it's qHD (540x960).

The handset also has an 8 MP rear snapper with LED flash, a 2 MP front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of built-in storage which is expandable via microSD. At the helm is MediaTek's MT6582M chipset, boasting a 1.3 GHz quad-core CPU.

The Doodle 4 is kept alive by a 3,000 mAh battery, and it runs Android Lollipop. It has dual-SIM functionality but no 4G support, and it comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

Its recommended retail price is INR 9,999 ($156, €143), but you can find it at eBay for just INR 9,199 ($143, €132) at the moment.

Thanks for the tip, Priyash Maini!
