Images of Sony Xperia Z3 surface, looks very similar to Z2

12 July, 2014

Sony’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z3 has appeared in a set of leaked images. The successor of the Xperia Z2 smartphone more or less features the same design language as the current model with minor changes.

The leaked images show the smartphone in all possible angles. It looks like the Sony Xperia Z3 sides will be curved as compared to the flat design in the Xperia Z2. This seems to be the answer for all those who complained that the Xperia Z2 was uncomfortable to hold in hands.

The other minor design changes include the repositioning of the speaker grille, which has been moved a bit towards the left side of the smartphone. The secondary speaker seems to be absent in these leaked images and that means Xperia Z3 might not sport stereo speakers like its predecessor did. However, we might be looking at an early prototype and things might change in the final design.

The magnetic connector, microSD, micro SIM and micro USB port flaps are all present on the left and the right side of the device respectively. Sony has retained the dedicated camera button and it looks like the 20.7 megapixel Exmor RS sensor with G Lens is also on-board.

The fact that the specs are way too close to the Sony Xperia Z2 certainly make us question the validity of the leak. The device in question could be another member of the Xperia family or it might even be an elaborate hoax so take it all with a pinch of salt.
