No Radio, no second camera, it sucks...same design...they should've re-designed iphone 3gs

OK , im not a fan of the iphone and never have been ok. So dont hate on me, im telling u now, however the iPhone 3Gs ( s for speed ) i think the specs on it seem alot better and have much improved from the old iPhone. However, Im not planning on buying this haha trust me, my heart is set on the HTC Touch Pro 2 but, does anyone know wot the price for the iPhone 3GS will be in the UK

What Apple has managed to do is that they have gotten people excited about features that came out 7 years ago, like video recording, and Bluetooth. Not everyone can do that.

Its sells cos of the BRAND APPLE. if this phone was made by any other maker. it would sell peanuts. there are phones that have better features, quality and cost lesser(unlocked)... and then there is iphone.
i guess the GS also cannot transfer files through blue-tooth.

some people telling that they are disappointed because its almost the same like the previous, but you guys are just telling it because you are blinded by it having same looks as the 3G, apple should have changed the design, like they did with the 3G and the original. but if you really technically compare the changes, the 3G to 3Gs has bigger changes than the original to 3G.
before ... the iphone3G only has 3G, 3rd party application support, and a better headset jack over the original iphone but with a different exterior design looks, then nobody complained about it being similar.
now the 3Gs, 3G is twice the speed, has 256mb ram over 128mb of the old 3G, new and better 3D graphics support, camera has changed to 3mp with touch focus, has video recording and geotagging, has voice control, built in digital compass, now with data encryption and a better battery life. but same exterior looks as the old 3G, now everybody complains of it being almost same as the 3G... how ridiculous!

It has the same CPU as Omnia HD... it's nothing new, really. It's not even multi-core.

Actually, 3G stands for 'third generation' of telecommunication hardware standards and general technology for mobile networking, including the UMTS-technology as well as a secondary camera.
It stands for BOTH of those features, and Iphone 3GS still misses one of them... in 2009. Yeah, I know, it's really a shame considering the first fully equipped 3G-phones came in 2001!

3G does not mean 3rd generation. Thats not right. It is the 3G network that the iPhone runs on. If 3G did mean 3rd gen then the iPhone before this one would be called the iPhone 2G & the one before it would be called just G, but it is not. This one is called the iPhone 3Gs & the phone before this one is called the iPhone 3G, explain that if 3G does mean 3rd generation.

Hey i think iphone is a good phone it made way for other touch phone. It on to buy list, but wat i notice apple has the technology to make this phone the ultimate touch phone so here wat i think every 3 to 5yrs the iphone is going to add an application that is missin and increase the camera from 4 to 10 and the legal limte a cellphone have and a civilan should on less u have a licence. Smart move

Anonymous, 10 Jun 20093G means 3rd Generation! 3G refers to the speed of the data network. If it was for 3G then why was the first one called 2G??
Also, the process of unlocking the device will void your warranty but it is possible. I wouldn't ask apple about it though. Research on the internet.

I'm a mac loyalist but I'm absolutely disappointed in the 3G S. I'm switching to the Nokia N97... it gives better value, better features and and a fresh new look! The iPhone 3G S boasts of a compass, voice dial and a video recorder; and all these are same on the Nokia N97! Aside the super fast 3G camera on the iphone, theres nothing more to it! I'll trade that for all the other great features and sharing-compatibility features that make a PDA worth having!

But yes, it prob feels like a decade since the introduction of 3.2 mp cameras on phones - it was actually 5 years ago that the 1st 3 megapixel phone came to market (a Casio) came to market - That had 16mb of memory built in, so the iPhone 3g S has 2000 times that.

3G is the network speed, so this phone, unlike the 2G, can access the internet at speeds of 3G. Therefore making sense that the main appeal/difference between the origional and the 3G is that it has 3G. Personally i think the name does exactly what it says on the tin.
