For context, I'm an Android main but I always kept around some form of iOS device to take advantage of the features of my Apple-aligned parents' family plan, such as Apple Music and Movies as well as some iOS exclusive apps I used to use a lot. Unfortunately, my available iOS devices were getting quite dated, an iPod touch 4th gen and an iPad 2nd gen, so my mom handed down her old iPhone 7 to me.
This thing still works like a charm to this day in 2024, running smoothly enough to not be frustrating and runs iOS 15, a huge plus. This version is still very much usable, not too far behind, and still quite feature packed. The 3D touch function is kinda cool, though I forget about it quite frequently. I'm definitely satisfied and will probably continue to use this quite a bit longer. I had been looking into buying a used or refurbished iPhone XS Max on eBay, but the more I use this, the more I realize it's still sufficient for my needs and could very well be a viable daily driver for the time being. I could see myself using this as my daily driver for a while if my main phone broke and needed to be repaired or replaced.
Great job, Apple. Your newer phones have excellent longevity and I am very satisfied with this one. Would strongly recommend to keep for just a bit longer if the latest and greatest isn't a priority for you and you want to save money. It's still very much usable.

iPhone 7 still going strong 2024! very fast phone this phone aged so well!! I could easily main this phone If I had to. I do recommend 7 Plus for better battery life and extra gb of ram.

the device feels still fast but goes out of memory very quickly

years ago were a lot of apps like this but apple banned tbem.
using this app since 2014 and during years lost a lot of usability but still works to free the ram instantly

I found a trick that clears it tho, quickly click volume up once then volume down and the hold power button (all of this while unlocked), wait for the power down screen and just hold the home button. When the passcode screen pops up you’ve done it. Makes it snappier instantly. I think Spotify stays open or something on mine, i use it all the time and keep closing the app but it always lags after using Spotify especially.

I must be honest, my iPhone 7 doesn't run that well anymore. I mostly have it to look at every now and then, I have the Jet Black (black piano) version and it is just a gorgeous device. Wish it was still somewhat useful!

I agree with most comment here about this iPhone 7 it perfect and I use it as personal hand gadget.
