Apple outs iOS 8 beta 5 for developers to play with

04 August, 2014

Exactly two weeks after the fourth beta release of iOS 8 became available for developers to play and tinker with, here we are seeing the update notification to iOS 8 beta 5.

The update comes in at around 270MB on the iPhone, but its size obviously varies depending on which device you plan to install it on.

As always, Apple claims there are "bug fixes and improvements" inside the new software release. However, there's also a mention that "Spirometry data types are now available in HealthKit" in the release notes, and iCloud seems to have received a slightly redesigned icon in Settings.

If you already have iOS 8 beta 4 on your iPhone or iPad, expect to see an update notification imminently. Otherwise, you can get the latest beta from the iOS Developer Center.

iOS 8 will be officially released to the public this fall alongside the much leaked iPhone 6. If you want to familiarize yourself with the newest mobile OS from Apple, make sure you read our preview of iOS 8.
