Apple releases iOS 8.1.2, addresses ringtone issues

09 December, 2014

Just a few weeks (and less than a month) after it pushed out iOS 8.1.1, Apple is back today with yet another new iteration of its mobile OS.

iOS 8.1.2 comes with its share of unnamed bug fixes, and it also addresses what surely has been a pretty annoying issue for some.

Namely, for certain devices ringtones purchased through the iTunes App Store may have gotten automatically deleted - in error, of course. Thankfully, this will no longer be the case with iOS 8.1.2.

There's also a special Web page now set up by Apple for those affected. You can go there from your iOS device and restore the ringtones you lost.

The update to iOS 8.1.2 comes in at around 30MB in size, depending on which device you install it to.
