Asus brings its Intel-based PadFone Mini to India

24 November, 2014

Asus has announced the PadFone Mini for India today. This is the same Intel-powered PadFone Mini which initially got official back in January, and has been on sale elsewhere for months.

As all PadFones, we're looking at a smartphone that can be inserted into a tablet dock, which then makes it behave pretty much like a tablet.

The smartphone part of the PadFone Mini comes with a 4-inch 480x800 IPS+ touchscreen, an 8 MP rear camera, a 2 MP front snapper, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage expandable via microSD, 3G support with dual-SIM, and a 1,170 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. At the helm is an Intel Atom Z2560 chipset with a 1.6 GHz dual-core CPU.

The tablet dock weighs 260g and features a 7-inch 1,280x800 IPS+ display, and a 2,100 mAh battery. The phone weighs 116g.

Asus has priced the PadFone Mini at INR 15,999 in India. That's about $258 or €207 right now. It will become available in the subcontinent in the following days, in black and white color versions.
