AT&T ready to sell 25% of T-Mobile to make the merger happen

The Department of Justice in USA recently filed suit against AT&T's acquisition of T-Mobile in order to ensure users a fair market and eventually prevent mobile services price increase.

It seems AT&T wants this deal so badly that it's ready to sell 25% of T-Mobile in order to settle the antitrust suit before it goes to court and get the FCC and Department of Justice approvals.

Even if this settlement goes official, there is another problem on the table - who will buy that 25%? According to an antitrust enforcer, Verizon and Sprint will be "a no-go". So AT&T must be looking for an international buyer that is ready to step on American soil and take 25% of T-Mobile's assets (cell towers, customers, etc.).

Much like AT&T, the Department of Justice is also determined to see this through the way it's supposed to be - not allowing AT&T to become America's sole GSM carrier. An acquisition like that would also shoot AT&T to the top, overtaking Verizon's top spot.
