First video teaser for the Huawei Mate 10 is out, reveals Leica-branded dual rear camera

Following an image teaser released last week, today Huawei has upped the game and outed the first video teaser for its upcoming flagship phablet. We're talking about the Mate 10, of course, which the Chinese company refers to as "the device worth waiting for" in its teasers.

While it stops short of naming it, the video does tell us it's part of the Mate series. What could it be?

The Mate 10 will have a dual rear camera setup just like its predecessor, and it will bear the Leica name - unsurprisingly given Huawei's long-running partnership with the brand. A peek at the few seconds during which the camera area is actually shown in the video reveals the fact that the Mate 10's setup will consist of a 12 MP color sensor and a 20 MP monochrome one, which incidentally is exactly what Huawei has used for both the Mate 9 and the P10. While the resolution of both sensors remains unchanged, other enhancements are likely.

The phablet will employ an "EntireView" display, possibly a 6" panel with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2,160x1,080 resolution. The Mate 10 will be powered by the upcoming Kirin 970 chipset. It will be made official at an event in Munich on October 16.

if anything this is obviously Sony's strength. since you mentioned it as well, the secondary camera is 1/3 and thats the front facing camera LOL. which is a big as iphones rear thats insane if you ask me. the technology on the XZP is kind of ah...

Space constraints, just pop open an xperia device with 1/2.3 camera sensor and you know what i mean, the tren of getting rid the bezel don't help either

So, the same thing can be said when taking lowlight, the extra noise will be suppressed due to higher mp that been downscaled
