Geeksphone Revolution availability expands to Europe

09 April, 2014

The Geeksphone Revolution, the smartphone that dual-boots Android and Firefox OS, went on sale a couple of weeks ago but the company behind it is now expanding its availability throughout Europe.

The Revolution is available through multiple Amazon portals – Spain (where Geeksphone is based), France, Germany, the UK and in a few days Italy too. There's a promotion running until April 15 that discounts the phone 30% to €240.

The Geeksphone Revolution packs a 4.7" IPS LCD screen of qHD resolution, dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 chipset (1.6GHz, 1GB RAM), 8MP / 1080p camera and 2,000mAh battery.

Geeksphone has a history with Firefox OS, having made the Peak and Keon previously (Peak+ too).

The Firefox OS software is not yet ready for common use (at least 4 bugs that makes a nightmare to use the phone) and Geeksphone dropped any plans to update it. Looks like a recipe for failure in business.
