Google launches new Street View apps for Android and iOS

Kaloyan, 03 September, 2015

Today Google updated the Android's Street View app and launched a standalone Street View app for the iOS. Both apps offer the same functionality and support adding your photo spheres around the globe.

Now you can not only explore the world via street view and check out amazing places thanks to the photos spheres worldwide, but you can also contribute to the latter. Both Street View apps support uploading your spheres and sharing them in the world.

Exploring the Street View collections is now very easy, with a very capable Search functionality.

The uploading of spheres is easy too, and Google even added support for third-party connection with spherical cameras such as the Ricoh Theta S and NCTech iris360. The Theta S spherical camera was in fact unveiled today as well.

The Street View app is replacing the Photo Sphere Camera app on iOS, while the Android version should be available for update in the Play Store, if it wasn't automatically updated already.

Happy exploring!

I think it is compatible starting from Lollipop (5.0+), so I don't think it will work for previous versions of android like kitkat
