Huawei sends out press invites for August 17 event in India, P9 expected

Huawei has started sending media invites for a product launch event set for August 17 in India. While there is no word on the star of the show, reports say the Chinese company will launch its P9 smartphone at the event.

If you recall, Huawei's India Consumer Device Business Group President Allen Wang had indicated last month that the device could land in the country soon, although no specific date or month was revealed.

The phone was made official back in early April this year. Its selling point is its dual-camera setup, which has been co-engineered with German optics specialist Leica.
