Himanshu, 14 July, 2015

Nearly a couple of weeks after there were rumours that Microsoft is considering dropping Windows phones, the company has announced that it will soon unveil new premium Lumia devices powered by Windows 10.

The announcement was made by Terry Myerson, Executive Vice President of the Windows and Devices Group at Microsoft. “Last week we announced a focusing on our Lumia lineup, but let me be clear: soon you will see premium new Lumias designed for Windows 10,” he said.

Although not yet confirmed, these upcoming premium Lumia phones that Myerson mentioned could be the Lumia 940 and 940XL, which are rumoured to cost more than the Samsung Galaxy S6 as well as Apple's iPhone 6.

While there was no official word on when these premium devices will be unveiled, it is being said that the software giant could take the wraps off these handsets at this year's IFA in September.
