I got my Surface tablet last Wednesday and, I must say, I am very impressed. Compared to my dad's iPad 3 there's no contest, Surface wins all around. The screen resolution is not as high, no, but the colours are more vibrant and eye catching. The UI is intuitive and easy to use, the swipe gestures work perfectly. The split screen view, which I previously scoffed at, actually has come in handy. I can have conversations with my friends on facebook while watching netflix without having to switch back and forth between apps constantly. The camera works for what it is and, unlike a lot of, in my opinion, idiotic and ignorant iPad users, I won't be trying to use it to block other's views to take photos at the Olympics. I only had problems with one aspect of my device, removing an app shortcut from the home screen. I was trying to do it the same way I used to with windows phone, but to no avail. You have to swipe down on the tile you wish to resize or remove.

So, I can honestly say, this is a very nice tablet, and worthy to be up there with the best.

DDub, 02 Nov 2012After a stack of research of tech AND user reviews I have p... moreI agree, most trolls fail to understand the reasoning behind the Surface RT. Microsoft have done a great job explaining the positioning for each product if people care to go out of their way to read the data. If one needs to run .exe then spend the extra & buy the Pro version or a Windows 8 Pro notebook. Alternatively go into a dark room and play with their iPAD until the feel good about themselves. Personally I'm more interested in productivity and will purchase Windows 8 devices that best serves my needs for both business and personal use.

Does anyone know surface has GPS or not?
In related site (surface.com) there is no indication for GPS support but in GSMARENA and some other sites, they said it has GPS!
If it has there would be no hesitation to buy it for me!

After a stack of research of tech AND user reviews I have pre-ordered my Surface. Actual users rate it 5 stars. I think most tech guys are missing the boat on their reviews - the Surface is aiming to bridge the gap between laptop and tablet, not become the best tablet. It will therefore not have the best cameras or a plethora of apps. That's not the point. It will however allow you to do everything a normal tablet does AND productive Office tasks (unfortunately no macros). If you just want to play with apps and watch movies, get an iPad or Android tablet. If you want a highly portable productive machine capable of the tablet benefits, the Surface is it.

Surface totally sucks, and is too expensive, and you have to pay extra for the keyboard because surface does not come with a keyboard included! A good review is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_927708&feature=iv&src_vid=dqAo4D7bfnQ&v=gQhhtvuZwVg

Just iPad.iPad 4 has 5MP but Surface 1.2 iPad 4 has LTE but Surface not.iPad 4 has 264 ppi but Surface 148 ppi iPad 4 has better video camera and more features on it's camera and iOS is better than Windows 8 because of features like Clock,Siri,Game center,App store,Photo Booth,Reminders,iWork and iLife. The speed of camera in capturing photos is very much and iOS has better UI than Windows 8.And the design of A6x is very good that makes the iPad more faster than Surface.iPad has better design too.Surface RT is nothin behind iPad 4 especially wifi + cellular and I thin Surface Pro can be a little near to iPad 4.

i have not had SURFACE hands-on experience. but i presume it will be a strong challenger to apple n android.
as articles suggest surface seems to grow on you. its unlike any platform as we know. looks like ms have taken care of quite a few issues which common people like me did'nt even noticed and considered the flaws as part/feature of the system.
i am not a very tech savvy person but i am definitely looking forward to Surface.
