Moto X getting Android 4.4 in a matter of weeks

13 November, 2013

The Motorola Moto G got all of the attention today so this juicy tidbit almost slipped by unnoticed – the Moto X will receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update "in a matter of weeks". Motorola's presenters weren’t any more concrete than that.

The Moto X launched with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, which was mostly clean of maker customizations (though not quite a Nexus). The Moto G also launches with Android 4.3, its own 4.4 KitKat update will come in January next year.

This info was announced during the Moto G event, you can watch the replay here. The Moto X update is mentioned at 1:14:35 and the Moto G update info comes at 1:41:00.
