Motorola Droid Turbo to get Android 5.1 update today

01 July, 2015

The Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the Motorola Droid Turbo smartphone, which is exclusively available on Verizon, will roll out starting today.

This was confirmed by a member of Verizon's PR team, who also revealed that it will be a phased roll-out, which means that the update will not be immediately available to all users at the time of release. In addition to the OTA, you'll also be able to manually download and install the update.

The news comes just a day after Motorola's David Schuster announced that the soak test for the update has begun, and if everything goes well, it will roll out later this week. Separately, the company's official twitter account had also confirmed that the update is coming soon.
