4.7-inch Meizu Blue Charm allegedly gets pictured

17 December, 2014

On December 23, Meizu is holding an event during which it may introduce two new cheap smartphones - at least that's what many rumors originating in China have told us so far. These handsets will be launched under a new brand, Blue Charm, a move which kind of reminds us of Huawei and its Honor sub-brand.

One of the handsets is apparently going to be called Blue Charm Note, as it will have a 5.5-inch touchscreen and will clearly be meant to compete with Xiaomi's Redmi Note.

The other device has the codename K52, and this might be it shown in the picture on the left. The smaller Blue Charm handset will reportedly come with either a 4.6-inch or a 4.7-inch 1080p touchscreen, as well as dual-SIM support (according to the two SIM icons shown on its screen in the image).

If this is the K52 and not some other Blue Charm wannabe, then it should also have 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, and it will be powered by a MediaTek MT6752 SoC coming with a 1.7 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU.

The Blue Charm line is expected to get bright colors for the back covers, slightly reminiscent of what Apple's done with the iPhone 5C. The smaller device may be priced at just CNY 799 ($128 or €103 at the current exchange rates).
