OnePlus One software update fixes touchscreen issue, sort of

22 August, 2014

OnePlus is rolling out an OTA update for the OnePlus One. The XNPH33R supposedly fixes the issue with the touchscreen that caused it to miss multiple inputs on the screen at once when they were close to each other. There was also a problem with the grounding that caused the touchscreen to misbehave when the phone was placed on certain surfaces, such as a pillow.

As you can see in the video above, the grounding issue made it difficult to use the touchscreen. The update does fix that problem, although many users have reported that the touchscreen still does not work properly for inputs close to each other. This can cause problems when you are typing or playing a game.

Along with one of the touchscreen issue, the update also improves battery life, which had become worse thanks to the previous update, and has some audio fixes and security updates.

You can wait for the update to roll out or get it from the link below. Don't expect miracles though. After all, you get what you pay for.

This is what the problem is with Chinese phones. Bugs, bugs and bugs and a little guarantee that those bugs will get fixed. I appreciate OPO's efforts to iron out the bugs.
