Oppo confirms upcoming N3 will also come in stainless steel

26 September, 2014

Chinese manufacturer Oppo teased us earlier this week with an ad campaign hinting at a lightweight, space-grade aluminum chassis on its upcoming N3 flagship. The latest teaser posted by the company yesterday confirmed this, but it has now been revealed that the device will also come with a more traditional stainless steel chassis for those not minding a heftier (and hopefully cheaper) N3 option.

The aluminum alloy will apparently be used for the darker color option, while steel will take care of the lighter one. It's unclear at this point whether one version will be cheaper than the other, but more options are always a good thing, especially when it comes to device hardware.

The Oppo N3 is expected to launch on October 29. Although that seems a ways away, the sheer amount of hype Oppo is hoping to generate means we'll likely learn a whole lot more about the N3 before it hits retail. Stay tuned.
