Hey all..firstly I wanna express my big admiration for the GSMArena site, it's really my favourite site as I'm a big mobile phones maniac :)
and I truly appreciate the big efforts of the GSMArena team..they really make the most objective and detailed mobile phone reviews online!
However, I've got a remark that I hope most people would be aware of..in their comments on the announcement of the Xpress Music line from nokia the gsmarena team said that "the flagship of this trio is undoubtedly the 5300"...well, I've got to point out though that the 5300 (and 5200) is made in Hungary (see the pic with back cover removed in 5300's review) which logically means that it would have a lower quality than the Finnish-made ones as the 3250 xpress music for example..I personally had a bad experience with those Hungarian-made nokias..they have a weak construction and they look quite cheap! let alone the fact that they've got nothing to do with durability!! (notice that in their review of 5300 the gsmarena team states that it has cheap looks and plays a little when closed)
Nokia has always delegated making budget, low-end phones to Hungary so I don't seem to understand why such is the case with a phone that is a member of a family which is supposed to strongly compete with the walkman series from SE! what I'm saying is that if any nokia fan out there is looking for a durable, high-quality handset with an OS and a relatively reasonable price then he definitely should go for the 3250 Xpress Music, not the 5300..or if he's got enough budget then maybe one of the N-series Music Edition phones would suit him. I really hope my point would be taken into consideration..just for the sake of customers' peace of mind! So, any replies or comments from you guys?

i have had nokia and i have had SE. infact i have a se right now. Nokia has never let me down, unlike se. 5300 is the next one i'm gonna buy for sure. btw you would have to spend atleast twice as much money on most of the se w-series phones than on 5300. if anyone is trying to compare w850 to 5300, a little reminder for those. W850 is a 3G phone = not compareable.

it's about time but they probably will not give the kind of sound output the Sony Ericsson walkman series give. the 3250 has problems. if they have worked on those problems before making these, good. if not, its a big pity.

It's bcoz of the display... Transfer those images into ur computer , u'll see that 3250's 2mgpix image is better than 6280/6270's , Moto v3x , 6233 and 5500 to name a few... 3250's camera is undoubtfully sucks at taking close-range photo , though (no macro mode LOL)

You know, this has been one of the most interesting comments pages I've ever read on gsmarena! Kudos to dreadnought and tarantula for having the dignity to have a proper debate, and ignore the crap around them.

Personally, I can't see these phones having a big impact in the market unless they are bundled with big memory cards and given MASSIVE exposure through advertising. They'd have to spend a lot of money to get a decent share of the mobile music market, and even then, I don't think they would hold it. These phones add very little to the discerning mobile music lovers market, but they do offer a way in for the Nokia fans. If nothing else they'll make a decent toe in the water before the new N91 comes in (the old one had very little penetration IMHO, I haven't sold one since they came out a few months ago). Fair play to Nokia for having a bash at what is obviously an expanding area, but we need something new to get excited about. A memory card slot and improved user interface is not enough, we need better battery, plus bundled memory, or even bundled bluetooth stereo headset to make it a killer device.

Incidently, that applies to ALL handset manufacturers, not just Nokia, because while the situation stays the same, I won't need to upgrade from my W810i for years to come.

well, sony ericsson was the first one to put up a music player trademark on their phones, and that is WALKMAN. it's very nice that SE looks back to the originality of the first portable music players produced by sony. the walkman name is now on the streets again. here in the philippines (manila), people are now getting into walkman phones because of their "cool" walkman badge. yes, it's really cool, especially if its a w950.
i have a w550 before and i can say that its speakers are the best even when compared to N6233 and Samsung D600. and the walkman player interface operates like a real mp3 player such as iPod or the walkman HD5. even when compared to moto's iTunes/music player, walkman player is still better because it's not a java app which loads slow.
nokia's release of this phone is for competition. everyone of us has freedom to compete. it's normal. business as usual.
