If Apple wants to stop people from tinkering with the inner workings of their products (which should be its right as a manufacturer), then they've taken a step forward with this. But I just know that those codemonkeys will find a way around this yet again. It's evolution, baby.

sadly this will always happen. the great cat and mouse chase with developers and hackers.
things will never change. since the days of the amiga. there is a clever person to develop an OS then an even clevered person to hack it.

strange though.... I could swear I saw iOS 5 upgrade link in iTunes a few days ago... :)
- 2011-06-13 08:32
android is still better and always will be better than "iOS"
- 2011-06-12 16:38
enjoy in the jail you losers. don't worship steve jobs just switch to android and enjoy.. at least you have a gadget that is totally yours. there is only one God no two..just enjoy freedom.

I have owned an Iphone from day one and i have never once jailbroke any of mine.
Im happy with how it runs now, the things that are free are great and the things that you need to pay for are also great, so i dont see the problem in paying for something if it is ghoing to benefit me.
All you guys bickering about different OS's etc you need to get a grip, The fact that Apple is one of the worlds biggest companys, and the fact that Iphone is one of the worlds best selling phones just goes to prove that the few of you on these forums moaning about other OS's etc are actually only a drop in the ocean, therefore your message doesn't go as faras you first thought.

I love the idea of iphone being jailbroken. Usually a jailbroken phones are phones which does not reach the high standard of a smart user. Smart user meaning the rich, the poor and the nerdy. It is actually a good thing.
- 2011-06-11 16:27
If steve aproved other apps on store, the history will be totally diferent
- 2011-06-11 14:39
After Android, Apples second worst nightmare is jailbreak. It makes alot of stuff free, stuff that should have been free to begin with. As soon as you jailbreak your iPhone, Steve can no longer charge you money for taking a breath. Your life is your own.
- 2011-06-11 13:27
see this is where android comes into play
you dont need any jailbreak to get free apps or unlock it
there are noo restrictions against it either
- 2011-06-11 11:10
Yeah,right :D :D
Everything made by human can be hacked/unmade/modificated/remixed by human.
In the worst case I'll sell my IpodTouch because if it's not jailbroken it's no use of me.
- 2011-06-11 10:26
its about time apple did something about jailbraking iphones...
developers are loosing profit....
no developers....no appstore...no iphone....
- 2011-06-11 09:37
Personally I'm not going to buy anymore apple stuff if I can't jailbreak it

even though some most of the unlocked things are close to original, they leave this scar of jailbreak.

i don't understand why these guys who belong to the teams specify which loop hole or security hole they exploited to come out with the jailbreak. it's of no use to us the end users so if it's for the consumption of other team members, keep it between you lot. you should have learned that by now.
