Quentin, 07 Oct 2011This is a Nexus S with a custom ROM. Not the Primeif its a nexus prime how do you explain that its bigger and dont have the same touch buttons?? it does look a lot like nexus s but its not.

Are you people that are talking about "the glass is not curved" ignorant? There is no way to tell the glass is curved unless the screen was turned off and a light was being shined on it

The iPhone serves me nicely in the gym and my morning jogs. Imagine trying to exercise with this beast... no way. What I like about the iPhone is that with just that one device I'm able to replace so many other gadgets. The nexus Prime or whatever is call does win in Specs but Specs isn't everything. Given I would of preferred for this new iPhone to atleast move up to a screen of 4.0, while still maintaining its compact size. It didn't happen but yet it still works for me.

I wonder if the software-driven icons along the bottom will always only contain a maximum of 3 icons?
If so, then some manufacturer should make an ICS phone with hardware buttons that have a tiny programmable display on each so that the icons can be programmed.
The reason: non-tactile buttons = FAIL!

Anyone that has a choice between an iPhone 4S and a Google Nexus Prime and chooses the iPhone 4S is simply ignorant of the following facts:
1) Screen SIZE (not pixel density) is the single most important aspect of the modern smartphone. A 2-fold increase in pixel density certainly makes using a 3.5" screen more enjoyable. However, a 1" increase in screen size fundamentally changes the user experience and makes all aspects of using your mobile better by an order of magnitude. The Nexus Prime will not only have a screen that dwarfs that of the iPhone 4S, it will match it in pixel density and greatly surpass it in contrast and brightness (while still being pocketable). Anyone that ditches their smartphone for a tablet when they get home knows this all too well.
2) In terms of usability, functionality, and (especially) flexibility, Android has surpassed iOS, which is why Apple chose to copy many Android features and incorporate them into it's soon-to-be released iOS 5. Where personal customization is concerned (widgets, themes, fonts, launchers, live wallpapers, etc), Android makes a mockery of iOS.
3) The Android Marketplace has nearly reached parity with the App Store. True, there are some developers that still develop exclusively for the App Store, but there are also those that develop exclusively for the Android Marketplace. The vast majority of quality apps today are being released simultaneously on both platforms, and in some cases the Android version is being released first. No longer is the phrase "it's the apps, stupid" relevant when choosing between Android and iOS.
It was for these reasons I was able to convince my wife (who has very, very tiny hands I might add) to upgrade her iPhone 3GS to the Samsung Galaxy S2 last month. On day 1 she hated the S2, and at one point wanted to return it and wait for the iPhone 5 to be released (which obviously didn't happen). However, after a week, she was hooked. She couldn't believe that she could have a Disney Tinkerbell theme, complete with custom icons, fonts, and even a matching keyboard (go GO Keyboard). She was also amazed at the difference a .8" bump in screen size makes for her every day usage.
I'm still using the Samsung Galaxy S1, and when the iPhone 4S was announced I asked my wife if she'd like me to upgrade to the 4S and then swap phones with her. She emphatically said no, citing the 4S'(still) small screen, lack of flash, lack of customization options, lack of Google Calendar (which her business now relies on), and the fact that every app/game she wants she can get on the Android Marketplace, not to mention the free paid-app-of-the-day she gets from the Amazon Marketplace.
My wife is living proof that ignorance is bliss. Yesterday, she loved her iPhone and couldn't imagine using anything else. Today, she couldn't imagine ever going back.

well this can be faked, think of a screen shot, n putting those three options in bottom with some image editing software, n then placing the image in the device, and when u'll open it in cell it'll look like the one in above pic... This is the closest approach to fake this.

I3iach, 07 Oct 2011Samsung Galaxy S2 Is Better. Personal Opinion. Well, HW-wise Prime seems to be pretty much the same device with slightly bumped up all-important-specs. Since it's almost Android-Android, one could expect a compareable speed bump. By almost I mean ICS, will S2 get it? If not, then Prime's multicore support is a real advantage. Not to say S2 is a dud.
Physically speaking is where one might find S2 better. Note is definitely too big, S2 is bordering too big, makes one wonder how is this? Neither is a design masterpiece.
Albeit this time Samsung is manufacturing Google's flagship, I can't but help to think this is going to be superceded by S3. And this begs the question, what is the purpose of this phone? It just doesn't seem to have a place in Samsung's lineup. As a matter of fact, Samsung's lineup makes atleast me wonder if Samsung should reorganise its lineup and just start manufacturer S, M, L -models of their phones.
