I thought HTC signed up to the minimum 18 month firmware agreement?
So why is the DHD left out. It's only 12 month old.

i hope HTC will do its best to provide the ICS update for handsets such as DESIRE S, INCREDIBLE S, DESIRE HD and RHYME. All these four handsets are quite good when single core droids are taken into account.

For people reading this, I suggest you try Windows Phone. You'll be surprised how much better than Android it is, and you can still support HTC :)

Htc supports their phones up to 16 months after release.
Then the phones need 256 mb ram BUT, we all know how much sense is a memory hog so I'd think 756+ would be optimal or else we won't be able run apps at all!

Does Anyone know the key improvements, that will come with ICS?
Newer doesn't always mean better.
Better Power Management, would be the best selling point for Me.

Head Moderator of CyanogenMod forum said that there’s two basic requirements to run Ice Cream Sandwich update smoothly, all android devices must hv 256 MB RAM or more and also decent GPU since Hardware- accelerated 2D drawing might be needed, 2D acceleration depends on phone GPU not the CPU so, there’s no problm if ur smartphone still powered with ARMv6. It may be only middle and high-end phone meet that criteria. But if your phone doesn’t, it doesn’t mean u'll never has chance to install it, CyanogenMod Team with CM9 and another developers will work hard to make it work on all android phone.

"first wave" they havnt ruled out anyone yet. and stop saying "NEEDS DUAL COARS LAWL" 2011 xperia devices have all been confirmed to get ICS, and NONE of them have dual core, and most of them (if not all?) have 512 ram, so it obviously doesnt require a powerhouse to run.

DESIRE HD ? no not getting UPDATE..bcos minimum requirement is 1.2ghz processor or 1gb ram.....but SENSE 3.0 works fine ....i have sense 3.0....it works like charm...but ur warranty bcomes void...DESIRE HD is one of the best smartphone...no doubt....gingerbread is the perfect last update....

I absolutely LOVE the complaints from the Androidians after EVERY new update. Lol!!!!! Watch, it will happen again when Jellybean is released and Kiwi and Lemonhead etc. It's a neverending phoenominon and I laugh everytime that the Androidians are almost NEVER completely satisfied with their devices and have to rely on XDA for the updates that Google and each Android manufacturer is supposed to provide. Keep up the comedy Androidians, it really makes my day brighter. LOL!!!! XD
BTW I like Android alot as it's a great OS with loads of customization but I caught on to the fact that you'll NEVER have the latest updates dealing with Android even if you have a Google branded phone (Nexus One users can vouch for that one and even when XDA gets the Custom ROM on it, it still won't be as stable as if Google themselves had just put ICS on it themselves).
