29 November, 2011
So far, the only AMOLEDs that boasted such density were using the often criticized PenTile matrix.

Anonymous, 30 Nov 2011HTC fanboy comes up with the phone that hasn't released yet... moreHTC's Rezound has been available since November 14th. I have one and will be getting the Galaxy Nexus as well. I'm a fan of great devices, so if that makes me a fanboy, oh well. Sue me. You are too funny though. Not knowing what devices are out on the market while confidently spreading false information killed any credibility you may have had. No one takes you serious anymore...pretender.

aaa, 30 Nov 2011samsung is making foolish the world day by day.most of comp... moreThat's quite a nonsense. One of main disadvantage of AMOLED is the price. LCD is relatively cheaper, even IPS.
The reaseon why the manufacturers swtiching to AMOLED is that OLED is technically superior than LCD although it costs a bit more. We are in the era that the industry switches LCD to OLED. The supply of AMOLED is short(=selling extremely well), so a few company hasn't switched yet. However, the time will come.

by the way, Sony is getting supplied by Samsung. They do share factories.
Samsung&LG are the standard of this industry. If you really want to come up with a decent japanese company then it should be Sharp, which operates the factory and invest heavily in the industry.

Yep, most of merdern "Plasma" TVs have over-saturated display.

You are experiencing same quality and techs that are used in modern TVs. Why should we complain about it rather than appreciate it. I know, the haters will hate anything that is possible...

And Best screen would definitely be a Samsung Super Amoled Plus Screen. And they really are not that over saturated.. lcd's are just that washed up. they are slightly over vivid, but barely.

hey brainak ! the retina display is Apple technology desing and patented by them.
of course another factory make it for them

as for samsung display, the technology and patents came from Sony Displays and in return samsungproduces sony displays in their factory.

In other words you have no idea what you talking about.

I wonder how awesome this would be if mixed with Nokia's ClearBlack display. If that's possible at all, it'll put Apple's Cinema display to shame. It'll even put Adobe RGB to shame.

90% of (Am)oled market is owned by Samsung and most of patents are owned by Samsung.

Who was marketing the improved OLED as AMOLED and pioneering the market? Of course Samsung.

Amoled > S-LCD, Samsung, the manufacturer of both displays confirms itself. The Capple makes the hype of pixel density, because they know they can't compete with Amoled in contrast, viewing angle, ratio and hips. At that size of screen, you wouldn't recognize the number of pixels anyway.

With LG preparing to release the Nitro HD and Optimus 4G LTE, it matches Apple's "Retina Display" in terms of pixel density. The kicker is that the display on both of those devices are going to be 720x1280 @ 4.5-inches. That won't be as sharp as the Rezound, but definitely better than Apple's Retina.

Its LED backlit IPS TFT LCD has become a joke @ 3.5-inches. Furthermore, 640×960 pixel resolution is mediocre at best. It's not as bad as 480x800, but not close to 720x1280 at all. Having a ~326 ppi pixel density means nothing on such a small screen. It's thoroughly laughable.

Best screen on the market right now...
