why samsung is doing like this? why they cant make a new version of android which is suitable for p1000. they have to do this for their valuable customers. theu can introduce newer version when others do that . we are all waiting to update at any cost.

I have been running a Jelly Bean mod for 3 months now and it works great! It is quite an improvement in stability and does not suffer from slowness.

Before you even "root" an Android phone, you can already customize through various launchers. Without "root", you can still side-load many apps. And then when you "root" you can just about change nearly anything on the phone to make it that much closer to "perfect" experience. Certain customizations require much less battery and processing power as they are "lighter" than others and you can get about 4-5 days of moderate usage out of your phone.
About Flash: Of course, a "fair" comparison would be to turn off Flash on the Android device as iPhones do not have the option to view them. Tests should be controlled, no? "Full web browsing" comes as an option you can access whenever you want as opposed to not being given that option at all. It's having the option vs not having it. That's where iPhone loses because there's no option for Flash. I only turn on Flash when I want to watch embedded videos anyway. Why turn off? It saves battery and loading time. Isn't it obvious?
What Samsung decided with the SGS and Tap 7" prior to their review decision was that the Gingerbread on SGS is best experience they can offer to the users (exactly how Apple decided not to give latest to iPhone 3G). There would be no difference if they ran the same stock Android, of course. TouchWiz is basically the selling point of SGS. If users though TouchWiz was junk, then they would've bought Nexus. If not they really liked TouchWiz, then they bought the SGS. In my case, I really like TouchWiz so I buy an SGSII but I still visit XDA to remove any apps or features that I don't to improve the user experience and keep the rest. I don't depend on XDA, but I use the solutions they provide to improve my experience.
If users so badly wanted ICS on SGS when it is not available, then they can use the stock Android from XDA. You don't need to depend on XDA as the update to ICS is not required as Gingerbread already provides very good experience. I'm also quite sure that the lighter version of TouchWiz launcher will be available to use with SGS with ICS. Current apps require Froyo minimum, worst thing that can happen in the future is the requirement rising to Gingerbread minimum.
Now that Samsung is reconsidering their decision, this argument may have been for nothing.
You can look at it one way "Android is very bad due to fragmentation" or you can look at it another way: "Android is very good because users get many different options, and often every options available". You would never understand latter since Apple decides for you what options you get.

What is open ? what u mean ? Android is open source project only to OEMs and Carriers but not for end-users.
So obvious fact is that we can't do anything beyond widgets and moving apps from screen to screen or background wallpaper.
If u want something more than that u must root the phone and get help from forums/websites where they guide u to install themes/extra stuff.
For example jailbroken iOS has cydia/saurik server vs iOS appstore/apple-server.
So the whole thing is u can run flash do multitasking on jailbroken iPhones but my fact is why should u jailbreak/root a phone u bought very recently (2010) and also its not cheap one ? (SGS is a flagship phone according to many)
Nexus S runs stock android which means that SGS is filled with Touchwiz-junk and app-junk pre-installed by samsung.
they also made too many hardware customizations for SGS externally too. (TV-out for some models and NFC for some etc).
This "open" kind of android nature brought them "fragmentation" and also customization eat up lots of RAM which is why battery is very bad on typical android phone.
One youtube video i saw comparison of Galaxy s2 vs iPhone 4S.
and typically galaxys2 loaded flash elements (ads mainly) and was like one second behind iphone and some websites equal than iphone 4s.
and comments below "turn of flash on android (galaxy s2 and re-test them" almost everyone said that.
why u want to turn off flash on android when u didnt buy iphone because it didnt have flash ? or why u want to turn off flash when its "full web experience" ?
So my question is simple.......
Why should i run stock android from XDA when Samsung ignores to make sTouchwiz version of Galaxy S1.......
Can't i just use Nexus S if i want stock android ?
people buy HTC because they use HTCsense UI instead of Touchwiz and motorola uses MOTOblur etc etc.
Each company has different style of looks which is bought by respective customizations.
whats difference between SGS and Nexus s when they both run same thing (stock android) ? and why should we relentlessly depend on some random dudes ? is it because samsung ignores ur phone ? or is it because android is very bad due to fragmentation ? .

I tried to find from the article why samsung wouldn't do it for Galaxy S because of the headline. But no explanation except a mere statement that ICS wont be available. Funny.

Lies. They'll update the Xperia neo to ICS, which I'm run will run flawlessly just like Gingerbread, the neo has slightly inferior specs.

Before I start bashing Samsung for not upgrading our phones I must point out that, I personally don't see a point in updating SGS to ICS.
Why?
Because there is not a single feature / app that needs ICS and won't be for the next few months. Froyo is mandatory for a lot of apps / games but everything above that is just "getting the newest OS update" and nothing more.
But a lot of users that want the newest OS will of course feel disappointed.
And now for the bashing:
Hahaha, Samsung is making fun out of its customers with such statements:
"... with limited RAM and ROM storage pointed out as problematic ...". Yes, and Nexus S doesn't have limited RAM/ROM?! --> It's the same amount on both phones!
Or even better: SE Xperia Ray with 512 MB ROM (Galaxy S has 2 GB ROM and beats this phone in every possible aspect!).
Fact is that ICS runs on SGS, but we'll see how well in the near future (thx to XDA devs!).
Samsung should at least tell the truth that we should destory our SGS phones and buy a new phone from them, because they need even more money from us.

thats why I don't want samsung . a mnth back I m looking for new handset. so my frnds suggest me to buy galaxy s but I hate samsung. coz of its design take a look on galaxy y ,ace ,s and s2 . all are approximatly same ony size diffrence.
2nd one is lg optimus 2x . which have same price as galaxy s in india . but they r too slow in term to update .
3rd one is htc but they are heavy metallic jiants . I didn't like heavy handset.
finally I go with SE . I Got xperia ray at galaxy s price. and ics is coming soon in my ray. small and light(100gm) unique.
take a look on xperia series every handset have a unique design , great features , and all 2011 lineup. is going to get. ics.
and now I m sure that I got right handset. ;-)
