Did I also mention that this one is running on Android Gingerbread 2.3.7 while the S2 is running on 2.3.4 and 2.3.5(Depends on region)? Did I also say that the Xperia S will be upgraded to ICS between March to May while we know nothing about when is the S2 receiving ICS?

GS2 outweights this? In what area exactly? Storage? Sure, will give that to you. Even though the Ion does have internal storage and the ability to have a Micro SD card
Screen? You're talking about a 720P Super LCD Reality Clear Black display which has no air passing through powered by a Mobile Bravia Engine. Even the one in the Galaxy Nexus can't do as good as this one. Super AMOLED + or not, I really can't find the "big difference". I have both the GS2 and Arc, the Arc is clearly brighter and it's screen saves a lot more battery than the GS2 even though the Arc's battery is just 1500 MAH while the S2's battery is 1650 MAH.
Processor? This pretty beast here has a dual 1.5 Dual GHZ processor and the newest technology from Qualcom. The Galaxy S2 runs on Samsung's cortex A9 1.2 Dual GHZ processor. Yes it's fast and smooth, but the one in the Xperia S is about 30% faster.
Multimedia? 12 MP Camera with ability to shoot 3D photos, panoramic photos, 1080P full HD video, powered by an Exmor R sensor. Front facing 1.3 MP camera capable of recording 720P videos. Music has XLoud which enhances the quality of speakers, has an equalizer, better music UI, better headphones(Seriously, they're Sonys.)
Entertainment? NFC supported, DLNA supported, HDMI supported, contains Music and Video unlimited by Sony which gives you free new block buster movies and a couple of hundred of songs when purchasing the phone, PLAYSTATION certified device. You also get free space in the Sony storage service.
After Sale support? Right now I am in Asia. My GS2 is running on Android 2.3.3 while my Arc is running on 2.3.4. And as you clearly know, Samsung is only updating three out of fourteen android models released in 2011.

I'm pretty sure some of u might not ve touched a droid device for the 1st time.
Howeva, i think sony did a good job here, but the truth remains unattended, why on earth will sony exclude micro sd card expansion?
Why must sony make devices with preloaded flaws. Example, u'll have to upgrade to icecream 4.0. For those who hate on samsung, i dont really know if u go round de street showing up ur mobile, as for me, i use mine indoors and very cautiously cos it cost much. Design or no design, hardware is more important when considering a new mobil device, and samsung has just gotten a double thumb-up to that.
Samsung gs2, stil outweighs this xperia s. with some healthy innovations! I cant buy a mobil witout an amoled screen?
Samsung rules, like it or hate it, its de undeniable truth!

I don't understand these Sony haters......... The phone has built in 32gb of memory which is more than enough because half of you haters have never even bought a 32gb sd card and to talk about HD video recording with the phone not having enough space is a load of carp because there is not one phone out there that can handle more than a 32gb sdcard and to top it off instead of swapping sedated Sony has given their Xperia phones an additional 50gb of cloud storage so u don't have to worry about misplaced sdcards

Anyway, I won't buy a GS3, even if it had a Quadcore and 2 GB Ram. Reason? It's simple, I don't need an ugly looking phone with a quadcore processor and 2 GB Ram. The specs in the Xperia S are far more than convincing. If anyone needs a quadcore phone then it must be Sony because they actually have good games on their playstation store. Apart from that, Xperia Play was running games pretty fast on a single core processor, this one is about 4 to 5 times better.

it's said here that the upgrade to ICS will be available on second half of 2012 (roughly means July onwards), but the SE product launch blog states as such: "Xperia™ S will be available to consumers globally from the first quarter 2012. Launching on Android platform 2.3 (Gingerbread) Xperia™ S will be upgraded to Android platform 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) during the second quarter 2012."
