măta, 24 Feb 2012You have no idea what you`re talking about , Android is way... moreWhat do you mean he has not idea about?? LOL!

I do have the same opinion and experience running Android crap. Just saying "no, you are not right" doesn't make someone else's statement wrong.
You remind me of my little nephew: 'cause I don't like it' but fails to clarify what exactly is wrong with something! lol!

măta, 24 Feb 2012You have no idea what you`re talking about , Android is way... moreone more thing... out of all the good things Android there are six things that I hate about Android... 1) the majority of free apps are either a) stupid b) buggy c) a keyboard d) a theme e) a widget or f) a virus... 2) UI is ugly... 3) it is buggy... 4) the update mess where as soon as the latest version is the most popular version the next version is out... 5) Droid makes have made seem like when a phone has a smaller screen it's low-end and a big screen is high-end... 6) high-end droid makers make their high-end phones with what I call brag specs (more MPs, faster processors, bigger screens, and thinner profiles).

măta, 24 Feb 2012You have no idea what you`re talking about , Android is way... moreI have done over a year of research on all mobile OSes and their high-end phones and in some cases tablets and I'm still not done... and Google does hardly any work on there's... the biggest difference between versions was with the Honeycomb update... I constantly hear that Android can way more stuff but the things Android can do that IOS that I've noticed are little things that can be fixed with one update... maybe it's a bunch of high tech stuff and if it is then why put it in because it's obviously stuff that the average person can do.

blueglue, 24 Feb 2012Yes Steven, i was following your conversations for a while.... moreVery true... here's what I think...

-sure the Apple/Google will have their version of what Microsoft is doing with W8 and it W8 will most likely after theirs but what you are forgetting is that Microsoft already has a huge portion of the desktop OS market and what all three companies are doing will most likely help and hurt them at the same time... Apple/Google will possibly gain desktop share and lose mobile share and Microsoft will gain mobile share and lose desktop share... the result will most likely help the consumer as a whole...
-there is defiantly room in the market for a third OS... there is currently 4 in the world and 1 IOS, 1 Android, 1 being killed by it's creator, and 4th is Blackberry which currently slipping and has possibility of getting back on it's feet with BB10... if BB10 is good then it BB has a chance of being that third spot and Microsoft's competition and if it's a fail then Microsoft will just have to go above 10% and continue to make updates to prevent boredness among the consumer... which won't be hard...
-I just now Googled "is Windows 8 open source" and what I got was "Windows 8 Store To Allow Open Source Apps" and if it's true then twhat you said is not a problem...
-all Microsoft has to do to give W8 a good app store is to make current Windows applications able to be used in a touch friendly way... I simple update will do
-marketing is Microsoft's middle name... and advertising is it's last...
-I think you can use either metro look or the traditional Windows desktop look... and if can I know you would be able to put what you on the desktop look and if metro look is anything like WP then you should be able to put what you want on the metro look too.

Steven, 24 Feb 2012Ok then... I never said I believe WP will improve while And... moreYes Steven, i was following your conversations for a while. I guess you are honest in putting up the points you know. I Appreciate your efforts.

About the W8 and MS tricks, well i think, W8 is the o/s suitable for touchscreens along with regular keyboard / mouse. It shall be able to run on laptops, tablets, mobiles with varied h/w architechture. x86 and ARM architechtures. In short, your phone and your PC will almost look alike.

this is where the good things for W8 end.
-The above said abilities shall be well handled by ios/android by the time w8 is out.
-It has to compete with market leaders android/ios.
-As its not opensource and considering MS lisence fees the device would be pricy.
-Shortage of developers for aftermarket apps
-Needs very very good marketing and advertisements to gain the reach, android/ios has gone too far in these areas.
                      - W8 is not customisable, manufacturers will not have much interset to vest their innovations.

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2012I never stated that your comment was regarding WP7 surpassi... moreOk then... I never said I believe WP will improve while Android and iOS becomes stagnant... actually it's Apple and Google's job to make sure that their OS does not become stagnant or else I would support them in anyway what so ever but I do when I have to... heck out of all the OSes out there I prefer IOS... I am getting beside the point... the point I was trying make (and I am sorry if I was not clear, that is my fault) was if that supposed leaked specs for WP8 is true then Microsoft has a lot of tricks up there sleeve and we will probably see a lot of them in the year to come... as for my Sky Drive comment... I have only recently taken an interest in Microsoft and I have yet to do research on SkyDrive and all I know on the topic is what has popped up in my research which hasn't said anything about it working on Android and IOS... I just now looked it up and found that Microsoft is working to make it work on IOS and Android... as for my January comment which I should clarify as well... what I meant by almost nobody buys a phone January is that since January is a light buying season for phones that January market share does not matter alone... this is do to people typically worrying more about taxes, snowboarding and skying, and event like CES and MWC and there isn't a whole lot of new phones hitting shelves... have I clarified enough?

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2012I never stated that your comment was regarding WP7 surpassi... moreGood analysis mate.I bet there isnt any excuses left with WP supporters.

I guess Microsoft shall not gain much with the Nokia alliance, once WP sales pickup it would be equal choice for a user to get it from any manufacturer, i dont see any benefit buying Nokia-WP device for almost twice of what samsung/lg is offering. only added feature is ,free navigation. with the price differnece , i am better buying a samsung / lg and then buy a navigation software..

Back to topic of the thread, can any owners comment the performance of i9100G,specially for games? i havent used it personally.

Steven, 24 Feb 2012I never said that WP will surpass IOS and Android... what I... moreI never stated that your comment was regarding WP7 surpassing Android. I said that you believe WP7 will improve while Android and iOS becomes stagnant, meaning that these OS will not improve and thus becoming less appealing to consumers. Skydrive can be accessed via iOS and android as well, so I fail to see how that will help gain marketshare for WP7?

Also to say that no one buys phones in january is a ridiculous and weak excuse for the decline of WP7. Android and iOS has shown an increase in their January market share of 2012 vs 2011, where as Symbian, WP7, WM, and RIM saw declines. Remember, the vast majority of consumers are not "high end enthusiast", so why isn't a cheap WP7 device like the Lumia 710 not increasing their market share?

according to this data WP7 lost market share in Q1 2012. This is for the USA which quite frankly already got the cheap Lumia 710. Of course WP7 will gain market share, with all that money Microsoft is throwing around in marketing why wouldn't it? Will it be enough to put it in 3rd place? I doubt it. Your statement is completely oblivious to the fact that while Windows Phone 7 will improve with the introduction of Windows Phone 8, Android and iOS will become stagnant. Why would anyone choose WP8 over Android and iOS which has been around a lot more, more functionality, more developed ecosystem, etc?

What would WP8 have that compels any manufacturer aside from Nokia to put their eggs in the basket and push for WP8 vs Android when Android has been shown to make them huge profits aside from Sony and LG? Huawei and ZTE are all showcasing their Android devices at MWC, where are the Windows Phone devices aside from Nokia?

I can guaranty that you will see Microsoft gain market share this year because of WP8, Nokia, and WP will finally surpass WM because it's close right now.
