But thanks a lot for that great article. It's more or less in line with what I was already thinking.
Nokia is the living proof of how greedy shareholders can run a company into destruction.

second... I play chess, go on the web, and do homework on my computer... that's it... I shared my PC with my brother for awhile and we played MW1 on it sometimes when we first got it but it worked fine when we stoped.

Guys these are the US numbers only. The worldwide numbers look a bit different:
Q411 worldwide smartphone results
Apple
37.0m
23.5%
Samsung
36.0m
22.8%
Nokia
19.6m
12.4%
Research In Motion
13.0m
8.2%
...
Worldwide smartphone shipments in Q411: 157.8 million units.
Nokia shipped 19.6m smartphones in Q411 of which around 1 million where Lumia models and 77.3m in total for 2011.
Symbian is a dying platform but it's also Nokia's chose that it is. Throughout 2011 Nokia spend almost $0 on advertisement for Symbian phones.
While sales are dropping rapidly, we shouldn't forget that 80 million and 110 million symbian phones where sold worldwide in 2009 and 2010 respectively of which many are still in use.
Nokia Anna made Symbian 'usuable' but Nokia Belle makes Symbian a breeze to use.

> In reply to Steven @ 2012-03-09 01:58 from 0HW@ - click to readCouple of points from your comment posed an interest to write this up. i think the other guys was trying to relate Symbian with an example , by stating it as PC in the computer world. I believe the example is not entirely valid.
Lets modularise the entire talk, Symbian, is an o/s designed for a phone initially, later on features were added to it. Improved and evolved with the so called "samrtphone" features. Win MO ( 6.0/6.5) is an o/s by itself to which Microsoft tried building a phone around it.
Symbian evolved for its 'openness', but now its saturated. Its another point that the loyal fans are unable to accept that there is a new front runner.
well, considering the maturity Symbian has shown in yester years it can be compared to Win98/Win2000 of PC.Period.
Second point,is MAC slower of PC? This is another debate i should say.If you think your PC at home is slow than Macbook, there are umpteen factors behind it, and moreover the question is "slow, when doing what?".
remember the availability of PC games , which are not available for Mac. The ease at which we can work with Word, excel kind of documents which is a pain on MAC.
Yes, MAC is less prone to virus/malware. the argument can go endless,In short this would be users choice

U.S, U.S, U.S!
Is the United States of We-Alone-Matter the only country in the world?
Why are we so worked up about American stats?
Don't the rest of the world count?

> In reply to Anoynonomouses @ 2012-03-09 05:35 from IWP1 - click to readDude, this forum isn't for american only
This is gsmarena.com, not gsmarena.us or anything else
Billions people on the planet called earth in milky way can open this site, means that every person in this forum is from the whole world, and when they talk bout symbian, it doesn't mean symbian's reputation is worst in american market only. America just for example. U know how the image of symbian in other countries hasn't good like several years ago.
Some nokia lover often make a quote: "If u don't like, don't buy it. As simple as that" that's right, but the problem is, everyone has opinion with or without buying the product. This is a democracy forum
