HTC: One S coating problem is limited, you can return the phone
- CharlieGould94
i bought mine in September, but i am still noticing some of these cracks in the black covering.
however, i had caused a couple of marks myself, and used a sharpie to cover them. I assume i wont be able to get this phone replaced, partly due to the fact, there are visible user created marks, and the phone may have not been part of the batch that had the original issue.
Help appreciated!

If they're giving you a replacement unit, how does that reassure you that your new One S won't experience the very same problem? I hope they can find a solution to the root cause, I really want to get the black one!

The One X does not have this problem.
It is only the black One S , that has the Micro Arc Oxidation coating, and only a few of these that has this problem

No! --> Then it doesn't suffer from the same failure.
Your One X is safe :)

I'm having this issue since yesterday, the phone is 6 days old. Phones4u UK want nothing to do with it. HTC have told me to speak to the retailer. It seem like my only option is return the phone within the cooling off period and go to the Small Claims Court if charged for the phone.

HTC takes quality very seriously and are providing all customers with an immediate fix and we are implementing some small changes to ensure customers do not experience this issue in the future.
But why HTC won't fix sensation XE death grip..? I'm thinking of getting one but there is a big issue. SO SAD.. -:(

DEAD ON ARRIVAL..................a very commonly used jargon in retail stores dealing in mobile phones.
Please stop the speculation!

I've got the htc one x and the screen does change colour when you press the edges reasonable hard, but it doesn't bother me. If thats the only 'defect' that there is i'll be very happy. It really is a GREAT device. I did come from a samsung galaxy s though and had quite a few problems with that.

Visited the HTC flagship store in Copenhagen today and their black One S on display had damaged coating around the top edge, but the grey one didn't have any damages...
