May be powerful but looks ugly, cheap materials, seems to be a fat Galaxy Ace 2.
Why not have used Krait cores? Not enough time? The next competitor with quad A15 cores will kill SGS3!
Actually the best alternative for a good set of performance/quality/design/endurence will be the HTC One XL soon available...

Yes, everybody copies Blackberry. Even HTC and Samsung have their messenger-type QWERTY phones.
Symbian's OS naming scheme has nothing to do with Android. After Anna and Belle, Nokia decided to stick with Belle name and just adds the FP number for future OS iteration.
The X6 screen has 16:9 aspect ratio which is different from iPhone's 1:5:1 aspect ratio. And before there even was an iPhone, the N91 already has a built-in memory with no expansion slot.
The N9's buttonless design is built around its Swipe UI. The physical design together with its user interface makes it innovative. You don't have Swipe on an Android.
What's the point of designing your own CPU when the system doesn't support it. Symbian is perfectly compatible with the ARM architecture. And Windows Phone as of now doesn't support chipset other than Qualcomm.
Hey, The 808's BCM2763 is one of the most powerful GPU's around which is 4x more powerful than the previous generation. And the 808 also has a dedicated Nokia-custom camera GPU, a hardware requirement to run the PureView camera.
And how can you say Nokia's camera don't have decent quality? Have you used one? It's beyond decent. It's awesome. And no proper lighting is required to capture excellent images. Even my 4-year old N82 can take breathtaking clear pictures even in pitch darkness.

i am a big nokia fan, i have nokia n9 and lumia 800. before i had sgs 2 and iphone. at that time i was the same big nokia fan. i also had many sony ericsson, lg, motorola and i was the same nokia fan at that time. i have tryied along time any model wich i liked than, but always i returned to nokia.now i am ready to sell both nokia and take sgs 3. i want to have it. but i will return to nokia for sure if lumia pureview will be launch

It's a Samsung vs Apple world. Nokia fanboys are just making noise. Foolish Nokia management went OS shopping: kept symbian, tried meego, meamo, and now went for microsoft, yet they overlooked android??? Android is what made samsung great (even their own bada and wp phones don't match)... with nokia hardware, they should have been a force to reckon with. THINK NOKIA! Samsung also had WM and now WP... yet why is it android that's bringing in the $$$? You are betting on a turtle in a horserace!

Most great movies filmed with 3.15MP Camera not 10000000MP but with better sensor and lens that what people need not a showoff number of MP.

Overall - disappointing.
Great performance and features - absolutely!. 2100mA battery should = longer usage times (even with 4 faster cores). HD res is great. Improved UI.
4.8 screen getting too big for a phone. Was hoping for an ultra thin bezel hence reducing size.
But pentile matrix? Heavier? Thicker? No quality materials? Mali GPU? No LTE? And featureless design? Very, very poor for a flagship phone that's meant to be setting the standard...
Heavier I understand (bigger battery weighs more). But Sammy have HD Super Amoled plus on tab7.7 - why pentile here? Competition has phones 6.9mm thick. HTC, Sony, even Motorla & Huawei have better designs (not to mention Apple) and materials. So it's not as if any of this wasn't achievable.
I have a SGS 1 & 2. Was really looking forward to a groundbreaking S3 on all fronts. In no rush to get one now, and possibly might not. Will wait to see the competition; eg: Sony Ion, HTC, even (lord help me) Apple; or maybe wait for SGS4.

Listen man Nokia is the one who copies every thing BB mini qwerty in E61, Naming their OS editions with names "Anna Belle" like Android "Froyo Gingerbread" Copying IPhone style in X6 series same screen size and no microSD, copy Android honeycomb tablets no physical buttons like G-Slate in N9 and claim they are the first what a joke, And they stole SX1 Siemens style.
Nokia has nothing in real world no CPU designed by them while Samsung has Exynos Sony has ST, No descent GPU no HD screen resolution, imported screen technology from Samsung Amoled... and now a showoff camera MP but no descent quality, Nokia give some sample in excellent light exposure to make the samples appear good, just wait until it released will be a real disappointment.

Try to use even a Nokia Lumia 800 with Pentile A... morenokia is the best hardware manufacturer i can think of. turned me down on software though - i used to love symbian, but they let symbian down by not keeping up with competition. seems they are a poor chooser of third-party os too--microsoft has never succeeded in the mobile arena. other than nokia/symbian pair how i wish there can be a phone with nokia hw with ios (but that's impossible), next choice should have been nokia+android ics. if an established mobile os like bb and ios are struggling with android, then how much more one that has already failed drastically, microsoft(wm, not wp).

My expectations were not dissapointed nor were they exceeded. Im definitely getting this phone, don't really like the pebble blue colour and would have liked a less generic design. Might be better in real life than in photos ( hoping) either way, the phone like most phones will live its life in a phone cover and I won't really experience the design , just the screen and features.Im hoping they bring the white one here to South Africa, our carries have the habit of not offering more than one colour option

Try to use even a Nokia Lumia 800 with Pentile AMOLED if you can spot any yellow or purple or pink tinge to it. Windows Phone's UI is a palette of white, black and grey. It looks gorgeous on Nokia's ClearBlack AMOLED. White is pure white, not yellowish white like Samsung. And yes, Nokia orders their screens from Samsung but the ironic thing is they turn out to be better in the end. They supercharge their hardware before equipping them in their phones. You still don't know what's going on in Nokia Labs and what precision and engineering they apply to their assembly before releasing them to market. Nokia is an expert and an innovator in mobile technology. They know what is necessary and what is superfluous. And Samsung is just an uninventive copycat of others products.

And PureView is not just about megapixels. PureView is their clever replacement for optical zoom. And Nokia is far from dead. It is actually a great time for Nokia to bounce back. After this disappointing announcement from Samsung, it will take probably more than a year for this uninventive company to replace this fail of a flagship, a great time for Nokia to step up their game and show how its done.
