They have to fix some features eventually. After any upgrade ,its always good to reboot the phone by taking off the battery. Hope it works for u.

After the update my GS2 is constantly locking up, it freezes for over 30 seconds sometimes when trying to switch between applications or even within an application. When trying to save an email address froma recent email, it locks up and crashes. Looks like this update still has A TON of bugs that need to be fixed.

> In reply to t989 gs2 @ 2012-06-12 21:29 from kcdr - click to readIt runs kinda slow, for instance when i am im Settings and wanna go back to the mainsreen,i simply hot the homekey, then theres like 5to7sec delay before the homescreen to display, the keylight wont stay on ,it freezes sometimes after downlaoding some apps, when dialing its kinda slow too, some features are kinda cool and useful but i like the old version better, its faster and easier to manage. Not really worth it. REmember everytime u upgrade a software, theres always some losing and gaining, its just a matter of personal satisfaction.

DON'T DO IT! Lost use of brightness slider. Lost use of Launcher Pro. Lost use of email app. Capacitive button light won't stay on, even after changing settings. It is much smoother, but I've lost too much. I knew this would happen. #shouldagottaiphone

I believe any official ROM flash will cause loss of root. Be extra safe and back up everything with ClockworkMod. Then re-root phone or revert to Darkside.

I helped the GF do this last night on her T-Mobile S2... It takes freaking forever. Expect bloatware on your PC from Kies and on your phone from T-Mobile.

But at least it is the ICS promised when she bought the phone 2 months ago. Home page(s) on the phone slammed to their version of what icons you need. You will have to redo everything you had set up...

Along with ICS you get WiFi calling and some other enhanced functionality.

Better speed and response in the UI. Some reporting better battery life. (LOL - it is probably too early to say that!)

Use USB cable to get update through Kies. Kies also adds function of plug and play support for syncing phone with desktop: contacts, music, pics, vidz...

Overall end result = nice. :)

Execution of how to get the ICS update (upgrade, actually) = poor and not well documented.

Best of luck T-Mobile peeps.

Peace.

Why so late for them I enjoying the GS2 with Android 4.0.3 for a weeks now and already remove the Samsung UI for Nova Launcher Prime. Now is fast and pretty.

I'm so surprise my benchmark is now 4080 almost as fast as the HTC One X.
