Several retailers have the phone on pre-order, but it seems that Amazon UK will be the first to ship it.

AnonD-24171, 27 Jun 2012For myself even if its 250 Euro i won't buy it simply S1 is... moreAaah, here you are again with your mindless comments and blind link posting. In your head, there is a skull and in the skull there is a brain where lies a very important thing called "common sense". I, with due respect, implore you to bring that into some advantageous use. Read less, think more. Ok, enough with the rant coming back on the topic.

1. Zero shutter lag? Well, except the benefit of capturing fast moving objects accurately, there is seriously no use of it. In fact, zero shutter lag means less exposure time and hence the less light enters the sensor which results in under exposed pictures and washed out colors. It also makes low light photography a nightmare. As for capturing moving objects Nokia uses Xenon flash which is a far better way to achieve the goal. Dismissed?

2. Burst mode? Seriously? I mean you really think that's an advantage? How many times in your whole life you have captured pics in burst mode? Anyways, there is a better alternative in 808 Pureview and that is called time lapse photography. And it does have a purpose as pics are used in the production of motion film (it is not exactly a motion film but gives that cool effect). Contented?

3. Aah, dear simultaneous HD video and image capturing? You know when it is possible? It is possible ONLY when the camera is not using the whole bandwidth of mega pixels of the module. So, that means your dear samsung compromised on video quality to provide you with a "great innovation" of simultaneous HD video and image recording to stuff the spec sheet with "intimidating features". While Nokia believes in using the whole bandwidth of mega pixels so as not to compromise with the quality of video that's why it is not possible. And for trivia, I should mention that 808 Pureview deals with 1 billion pixels per second while recording full HD videos and that is 16 (SIXTEEN) times more than your beloved "on fire" SGS3.

4. Front HD camera? :( My dear Nokia loses here. Ch ch ch... What a deal breaker!

"I saw couple of video samples on Youtube S3 is way better, Because of Exynos chip gives better stabilization and auto-focus."

You should try your luck as a Stand up Comedian in Britain's Got Talent or some talent show. Seriously!

No GPU? You read too much dude. It has got a Broadcom 2763 GPU packing a memory of 128 MB and has following features:

Full HD 1080p camcorder capabilities in a cell phone with significantly improved quality over current generation handsets (which generally have VGA or lower resolution camcorders)

Up to 20 megapixel digital camera with advanced features such as multiple shots per second, image stabilization, face and smile detection and panorama mode

The ability to render mobile games natively at up to 1080p resolution, which in combination with an on-board HDMI output, allows a console-quality gaming experience on large screen HDTVs

20% to 50% power reduction in comparison to the prior generation VideoCore® III multimedia processor

4 to 6 hours of 1080p video recording and 8 to 10 hours of mobile playback, with up to 16 hours of full HD playback over HDMI given sufficient handset storage.

There is also a scaling chip as the GPU can't support more than 20 MP camera modules. Anything else?

And yeah I just forgot that you didn't know how to count pixels? Did you learn it? Or still you think 7152 x 5368 = 16 MP? :P Need math lessons?

Nokia knows that only the last few remaining crazy Nokia fans will buy this outdated junk anyway so they'll go ahead and rip them off cause they know they'll pay.

I wouldn't worry about the SIM-free price tag. Once the UK networks stock it, I would think it would be 25-30GBP a month on a 24 month contract.

I currently have the N8 and it serves me very well. I'm not going to pretend it is a slick as the iPhone or have the choice of apps that android has, but it is still a VERY good phone. Yes, it can do everything that you'd expect of a smartphone, despite what the critic like to say.

I have read the reviews of the 808 Pureview and what they have done it take the N8 and improve it still further.

For those that like iPhones or android, great. Stick with that. However, for those of us that like what N8 can do, I think the 808 PureView will be an excellent upgrade.
