Meizu MX 4-core is now available globally, pricing still steep

16 July, 2012
Meizu’s quad-core beast went on sale, but the initial asking price of $650 seems quite high.

LOL, this looks NOTHING like the iPhone. If you want to talk about 'COPY', google iphone copy LG prada.

          Now that's an EXACT COPY.

Meizu, 17 Jul 2012I have both iphone 4 16gb and Meizu quad 32gb with me now, ... morethats ridiculous. its $600+ how come its cheap.
well, most android smartphones were created by asians. samsung, htc, and lg, they are either korean or taiwanese brands.
and apparently, it looks like an iphone pal... have you seen other smartphones?... they look stylish and they dont look like an iphone. because they are afraid of patents esp. from apple.

I have both iphone 4 16gb and Meizu quad 32gb with me now, do not understand why people say it is a copy, sure it has a black front plate, a screen, some cameras, and a home button. What else can a smart phone look like? Side by side it looks nothing similar.

                          To keep it short:
                          1) Shut up if the existing iphone can perform as good as Meizu Quad.
                          2) Hardware wise, it's fast, but lack of software and game to back it up.
                          3) Asian people have been buying overpriced American junks for decades, now go taste it.
                          4) Custom rom is a problem, I see xda's adman has rooted the Quad already, but forsee he will have trouble installing custom rom on it. Lesson learned, I'd wait another half a year to get a better unlocked phone.

datagutt, 16 Jul 2012 Their phone LOOKS good, but eventually they will screw yo... morethis thing is way overpriced.

the thing has a small outdated screen with outdated resolution and its significantly slower then the rest.

a price just arround the experia S range wich has a better screen but is dual core is more in line with reality.

[deleted post]you think they care in the slightest? The Chinese are the only people in the world who can tell Apple where to go an what to do when they get there. Western customs, patents and traditions are completely irrelevant to them - and hopefully it will spark a boom in phone design and technology

Their phone LOOKS good, but eventually they will screw you over. For example, they refuse people from downgrading, and they block installing custom roms even on their HK devices (which is made to be unlocked, else its 99% the same as CN).
Oh, and forgot about root, they do everything to prevent you from doing it the software way. The only thing you can do is take your phone apart and find the UART. They also fix hardware faults by releasing new devices that are 90% the same. They basically let people buy prototypes, then fix the faults of the device by releasing a new one.
Do me a favor, look at the meizume.com forums and see the miserable users before you buy. I thought i could live with some quirks, but constantly more appeared until i had to look for another phone.
