I like the deigns of Xperia P, u, S and SL. very simple/ business looks though packs a lot of fun. If I were to trust any other brand other then nokia when it comes to hard, it would be sony.

i will consider Sony when the designer(s) get over the more-uncomfortable harsh square edges they choose to put on their latest Android phones.

Why do we humans always bring in 'the best' discussion everywhere. Say youtube, mobile phone blogs, facebook, anywhere two people take a piss, people start fighting about whose was more yellow and whose was more clear.
Read it if you can: Its not your Piss that you are fighting about.
None of us invented the Xperias or The galaxies. Then why fight?
I like Xperias' design and cameras and UI and am happy with the performance. (very very happy to be honest).
My brother likes The galaxies. He wont get a Sony at any cost.
Whats the big deal?

Look at sales record on their mid range and enrty level. Not good as mention at all. But sony have good sales in all devices range. 7million unit sold for xperia s and arco hd can be consider a good sales record after tsunami effect in japan recently.

Why don't you take GPU/Camera/Sound and screen to compare with Xperia S why so selective and choose and brag only about Quad-core?
Second, the Xperia S perform already better than those two device you mention.
Sony know what they do, and Sony know that a quad core has no 100% support of the OS from Android.
You can better say, why Samsung and HTC use such Quad core and all other hardware is still low against the competition?

Without meaning to be a troll, Android phones have moved on a generation. The Xperia S is a beautiful phone, if a bit too square for me, but I fail to see the advantage of a mild warmover when the S3 and One X are still very far ahead on spec and performance? Come on Sony, raise your game!

Most of us or atleast guys like him and me, come over here on gsmarena to get latest news feed in mobile world. not to troll around and claiming whos best. Just appreciate good product and like it if some company is progressing. dont hate other brands just because you are bound to one specific mentality lol. if so? whats the difference between apple / samsung fanboys?
