The Finns are still second in the US but it's worth noting that they went from 0 to 28% in five months.

lol what?, 23 Aug 2012If one person exhibits idiocy by comparing a feature phone ... moreYour Nokia CEO Stephen Elop say the phone will flop. No carrier in their right mind would subsidize for a symbian phone.

I use a symbian phone before a windoze after which an android. Android suits me as i have 100% freedom to do all the things on symbian that windows 7.5 don't support. Windoze a poorer cousin of iPhone.

If i want restriction i might as well get the real thing and buy an iPhone.

Android has 68% user base and so many people don't have complain about force close or crash. And the percentage keep increasing i own a WP7.5 and its not better than my symbian C7 phone, I feel its more restrictive than the old symbian. I can't bluetooth transfer a pdf document from my symbian to wp7.5 but no problem doing so with my Android phone.

Guess being Open Source is always good for the consumer.

This is actually nothing to be thrilled of, considering how small the WP market is.

WP8 and iOS will consume the entire market. The good thing is that you will still be able to run UBUNTU on your dead Android phone! Google is no match for either Microsoft or Apple. Sorry...

Google will sell Android development to a third party by the end of 2013.

We're gonna have a laugh at all those annoying Android fanboys!!!!

AnonD-16429, 23 Aug 2012Can you please explain how to 'manually' update to WP8? WP7 with Windows CE kernel can't upgrade to WP8 with Windows NT kernel. If WP7 had the Windows NT kernel, XDA people could probably come up with a ROM for it. Right now you can update WP7 manually to Mango or Tango easily and it works on any WP7. Every WP7 phone is basically the same. Download .cab or ROM straight from Microsoft server and use cab sender program to update. My bet is WP8 update will be very easy to do like WP7.

It seems like those that have never used the OS are bashing it. Be it WP, iOS or Android. I personally use all 3. I prefer WP and iOS because they are reliable and smooth, while WP is my first choice. Android is very buggy, has random force closes, and their update process isn't any good. Current WP7 won't get WP8. I will still get a WP8 because it is guaranteed 18 months software updates. If not, I am sure you can update them manually since WP8 are using pretty much same hardware on different phones.
