hmm.. maybe because i work for AT&T that I know so much??
i've been here even before the first iPhone was released so I know which phones are and will be released.
so even if the iPhone never existed, smartphones are headed the touch screen way (and rectangular).

Apple's patents war on other smartphone players is a strategic mistake, and in pursuing it the company risks tarnishing its brand and alienating a substantial portion of its customer base.
It didn't develop the basic cellular telecommunications technologies upon which smartphones are based. Those patents are held by some of the same competitors it is suing.
Nobody likes a bully. But that's what Apple is becoming. It’s obviously suing its major competitors just because they are competitors, not for legitimate cause but in order to block their competing smartphones from the market. Remember the world is watching not just America…

Its a two year old phone why should apple fan restless for. Yeah it got jelly beans on it with smooth like butter and everything so what right???? Apple have strange map and something something and a heavenly price and the hip hip hip hip hop commercials

patent rules should be reviewed as well. by right, no one should be allowed to patent common/basic features, like rectangular with rounded corners. why, even a tv remote control manufacturer can be sued by Apple.
imagine if Ford patented the 4 wheels, BMW or Mercedes will look like a 10 wheeler, Toyota will look like a trike.
so i say NO to patenting common/basic features.

Did they make that way more popular? Yes. But the phones were already heading that direction. Horrific common misconception with the Iphone changing everything.
