That's the problem with the blind trust associated with "Verification". And in any case apple can't scrutinize the App source code for malicious code.

IMHO, verification (or you said "censorship") is actually better for end-user. It makes sure that all app in the market are safe (i.e not stealing your data in the background).

China is the home of dual sim, lots of people have more than one active sim, thats why it seems like its so very many cellphone users there. Philippines is another example of this, at one point statistics showed it had more active SIM cards than it had people.

Hovever if you want access to the Google market, your device has to pass CTS (Compatibility Test Suite) to ensure all APIs are present and fully functional. That's dead easy to attain with decent design reference being given by Qualcomm, ST-Microelectronics, Samsung, TI, Allwinner and other Chip manufacturers.

Feature phone sales are not declining.
See the iPhones and WP8 devices. They are just locked down proprietary feature phones which restrict their users and deny them basic features like file management and impose censorship via their markets.
Android will succeed because its the only open and free OS in the mobile space.
