Guys have common sense htc doesnt meant to abandon permenantly but untill the next version of windows. More importantly microsoft from now on is releasing half yearly updates for wp8 and next version windows blue is expected q 2 2013 . I think they will support new screen resolutions then.

HTC is the best. And great news
They could out sell Samsung but are happy with there
leadership position in quality instead of sales.

The HTC butterfly makes the WP look super laggy with
stuttering.WPs can't handle the quadcore power and stuck at dual.

HOX+ Overclocker Custom ROM UK users group.
    (no lag, no sense UI)

      well no surprise here,
we all know windows phone is still more limited than android,

if you want phablet with high resolution & ppi then go with latest android flagship .

I actually like HTC wp8 offering, especially 8s.
too bad wp still didn't have call blocker app.

they knew apple is coming out with a 5 inch smart phone. I think HTC just surrendered.

No point in fighting a losing battle HTC. smart move, cancelling this. Also it's pointless going up against Nokia. Very smart move.

Windows has great potential but Microsoft can't expect to come to the party late offering less features and apps, and still charge the same as android/ios. If they lowered the prices, maybe even threw in a file browser, the phones would be selling like hot cakes.

This way we're left with a pretty decent OS on some very good looking phones which no one wants to buy because there isn't a lot of apps and no one wants to develop for because no one wants to buy them.

Microsoft should make its partners drop the price margins on their phones/tablets to make their phones more attractive and give people a reason to buy them (except for insanely good looks and a fresh OS) until the Windows store gets closer to Android and Apple store.

I really like WP and I hope they make it, but for the time being, I think I'm sticking with something that has a file browser and an app for everything, even if it is a big plasticky Samsung fingerprint magnet :)

              i was waiting for a wp8 smartphone with a 1080p screen and a quad a15 processor.
i am not willing to wait until q4/2013 for it to come.
so i now officially leave the wp8 camp and move to the android camp!
microsoft - the loss is all yours! because you still can't be competitive! what a disgrace!

How many HTC X8 has been sold? Of course, no one wants it. Is that obvious to you? When the price is high as Note 2 or Iphone 5, no one buys HTC. Even their Android phones are not selling well.

Really? They need to develop a totally new model from scratch? After so much recycling of the "same old-same old" in the Android pool, one would think all they need are the drivers for the components they put in and new commercials.

Now that's what I call a flexible OS, runs well on both single and dual and quad, and does so on any resolution, including 2560x1600.
