This sudden death issue is fixed in the latest firmware I9300XXELLA 4.1.2

Its wierd. I bought 3 of them for me and my Siblings. None of them seems to have this issue. :) Anyways? I could say things like this really do happen sometimes with electronic gadgets. Nothings perfect! Regardless of brand.

to all the guys who think nokia is a cheap heap of plastic: have u ever seen lumia 920 and sg3 side by side? lumia's build is top notch.. sg3 feels and looks like those cheap china phones.... even small companies like micromax have better build and design...

fix? i thought it was hardware related and not software.. otherwise why they swap the motherboard then ? it must be something that breaks on the mainboard.. this is hardly a software issue lol...

It's made of scratch-resistant polycarbonate unibody bioplastic. The iPhone 5 aluminium casing would scratch first before the Nokia Lumia 920. Not all plastics are cheap, only the ones that Samsung use on their phones. Even Nokia's Asha phones have more premium look and feel to them than Samsung Galaxy S III.

I had this same issue , the samsung service centre charged me full amount for the motherboard ...they said warranty not applicable
Now i get to see that others are facing the same issue .
Got my phone motherboard replaced , but that cost me Rs 8567 or $155 approx .... is there anything that i can do for refund ??
