The first set of statistics are for smartphones only, while the second are for all mobile phones.

How come Apple is 35% in the first graph but 18% in the second? Apple is the only manufacturer of iOS products so shouldn't both numbers be identical?

While I cannot verify that as there's no info on this stats details and the source is now not responsive, I do believe that those are stats based solely on sales. So it does not tell you what the people have in their pockets, but what they are buying. And these are different things...

To enter into the Indian and Chinese market companies will need to market mainly on price and then features. Apple have some serious thinking to do. I can't see them reducing the price of their phones for these markets and I really can't see them producing a cheaper, lower spec version of the Iphone, despite some of the rumours.
Samsung, however has everything in place to swamp both markets with models such as the Ace and the S3 mini.
I don't believe Apple will grab anywhere need the market share that Samsung will grab, but this is just my opinion.

The best smartphone is provided by Samasung, and the best OS is provided by Google. Who give a shi* for the design and material, if you have the best phone, is that means its body must be from glass or gold?? Stupid users, Samsung is the best and will stay the best. For iPhone users what will happen if your phone felt down... Hahahahaha so now you admit that plastic is better.

I read the links you provided. You seem to be correct for US market. For Indian market, low share of smartphones can be seen as opportunity. Pepple don't have money to spend on high end smartphones doesn't mean they want dumbphones. Check Micromax A110. It costs INR 10000 (approx $190) contract free. Since the launch in October, its selling great and out of the stock in most of the retailer shops or online stores.

Apple will grow more slowly and growth will decline because it serves for just one class and its phones are unreasonably expensive than other competitor .

I don't really get it why samsung is on the top, I mean their phone design is bland, the material they used is standard, and there is nothing special on touchwiz UI...well, I'm using galaxy ace 2 right now, I bought it out of curiousity, is samsung that special? but I don't feel that exited after using it for about 3 months, well the phone certainly is comfortable for my daily use.....samsung is doing great at marketing, but I think they should consider their phone design and material, or people will start losing interest in them, well that's just my opinion though

Glad I moved away from Android after couple years and many Android phones, to WP8 and iPhones. They have much less bugs and smoother OS than Android.

Android & iOS at the top
Android is growing fastly iOS growing stable way .
WP is Unsuccessful and falling down .
and i think that all people who understanding what is Android or iOS dont have to check out these informations cuz they already expact this .
