Dual SIM for 3rd world? I live in Western Europe and I've been carriying a business terminal and a personal one for years and I've been waiting for good dual SIM phones for a long time. I've seen this phone for 350€ and actually, the only reason for not buying this Galaxy Grand Duos is the 187 dpi display. If Samsung or HTC release a good Android Dual SIM phone, I'll buy it soon.

AnonD-43357, 16 Jan 2013the price of 409 euros is way to high for this frankenstein... moreDual SIM = for poor people in the 3rd world? What are you talking about? Everywhere you have people who have to carry 2 phones, one from work and one private. Actually the dual sim market is pretty much neglegted and they are starting to realize it. Here in Germany the Galaxy S Duos has been a total success because until now it was the "best" dual sim phone you can buy. There is no high end phone with dual sim. Samsung has now a version of the Note 2 with dual SIM but only in China. I would totally buy that if I could.

This is so not going to compete with other phones. It may be a large screen phone but they should have kept pricing under 400$ or near 20k rupees. Otherwise in this price one can get a quad core phone at its price. Canvas 2 has almost same configurations and you can buy 2 of those and still have some cash remaining.
Are they trying to make up for the loss they faced by paying APPLE that huge penalty :P

Good Initiative about Dual SIM smart phones. But Pricing should be not more than 18K in India. I will still prefer A110 compare to this monster pricing phone.

                Main drawbacks are:
                187 DPI
                Amoled display missing
                Sound quality should be better

                  That's Scamsung for ya!
                  This is typical Samsung pricing.
First offer some cheap and very good price/performance stuff and then when you sense that the market recognises your brand as very good, you jack up the prices of your products like S3 mini and now this frankenstein pos.
                  :/

the price of 409 euros is way to high for this frankenstein's monster. nothing fits here. specially the 5" screen with 187dpi. this phone should cost around 250 - 300 euros. not more! dual sim = 3rd world phone were people have to deal with a small salary. so 409 euros is a bad joke.

i wonder what people in germany, UK or the US would pay for this phone? in germany you earn 10 times more than in the ukraine but you get a real top dog named sgs3 for 420 euros. if you compare the minimum wage in brazil of 667 R$/month which is around 250 euros you have to pay almost 2 full incomes to pay this ugly out dated brick. which american would spend 4000 US$ on this phone? 3rd world goverments are waiting to rip off there own people with high taxes, going hand in hand with blood sucking companies like apple and samsung.

Actually, I was in the market RIGHT NOW for a dual-sim phone, with right about these specs. But because this is not an AMOLED (and because I much prefer its design), I picked up a stock Galaxy SII instead, for slightly less than that. Samsung needs to remember how to design an exciting product, really quickly.
