But obviously not, there are more competitive phones out there to beat s2 plus. So probably a good estimate is 3 more months before you get update. Thats the just a right amount of time for samsung to realize that s2+ cant sell, so they will update s2 for damage control.

another problem for sony is the xperia zl, since the most markets(usually big markets) will get xperia z, while small markets will get xperia zl n problem is that sony had to satisfy both their customers which is nearly impossible as xperia z is true flagship, it will always get early updates before zl which will make zl owners cry for their device and may end up people not buy zl in future after release... also some people who want xperia z n if it z not available in his/her country will move to other manufacturer... sony is killing themselves...

i guess even htc butterfly is enough to beat xperia z/zl n one more thing that sony did was that they wont release both devices in same market means some will get z while others will get zl so looking at individual sales, they cant even beat htc butterfly, combining both may beat butterfly but i doubt that too... while people r comparing this to a giant S4.. hahaha they r already lost without opening the competition... people r not willing to look reality n shooting the sky unnecessarily... good luck wid ur z/zl... for me its S4...

And the phone's hardware I believe will have enough capability to run multitasking smoothly, its not like technology is running backwards anyways.

Try comparing android 1.6 to 4.2, then compare the oldest ios to ios6, which of the OSes really did take the leap both visually and functionality? I bet that is really easy to answer...

When Sony launched Xperia S, everyone expect to get ICS out of the box but all they have is a sticker promising that the phone is "upgradable". This was their very first flagship yet not until September 2012 was a buggy upgrade rolled out. sony at the time was busy upgrading their 2011 phones which till today remains full of unresolve bugs. And now they reverse the upgrade to start with latest phone while Samsung will be rolling JB for S2 in February 2013. Samsung supports Android upgrades faster, not Sony; that's why they outsold everyone, including iphones.
