10-15 years ago, Sony was it. Walkman, Trinitron TVs, Sony PS, Mini Disc (which I still like) even Sony Ericsson phones.

Now, I look at their TVs and am not impressed at all. Phones are crap. Mini disc is gone.

Why?? Because their products look shit now. They used to be the king for looks and had excellent build quality. Now you hold their stuff and its crap.

And not only do they look crap, built crap.. They try and charge Apple and Samsung prices when clearly they are not in the same league. Even their laptops are crap. I bought a Z series laptop. $4K - took it back as it DID NOT DOMWHAT IT SAYS ON BOX. Slow, and weak battery.

Went and bought a MacBook Pro retina for $2.5k and it was better in every way.

      This is the reality.

My last good memory with Sony, was the P910i.
Amazing! At that time, it was the best!

Touch screen, Pen, +Hard Keyboard, good battery, install random apps, IR and external memory!!

Before all this iPhone and Androids clone!!

            Sony rocks!!

.....oh, that was nearly 9 years ago :(
I've move out long time too...

sell / close the useless, focus on main bussiness (mobile phone & playstation)

thats a simple sale and lease back transaction, usually businesses opt fot this when facing Profitability or to be more precise liquidity issues. Stated net the company would have of $600+ million could well counter the current difficulties the company is facing. whereas The question is that how come the figure be shown as operating Income? secondly i believe the fact could influence the decision of Shareholders and investors both positively(in long run) and negatively(scheme of earning management).

                                    u lose smartphone sales,
                                    u do not lose quality,
                                    u lose critical acclaim in
tech sites, u do not lose die heart
                                    fans,
                                    u lose employees and sell
                                    headquarters and rent
                                    them
                                    u make a bang with the 920 and 820;u make a
                                    bang with xperia z and
                                    zl
                                    while samsung and apple
                                    (fans) stare at the old
piece of techs in their hands.
                                    Surely nokia is on
                                    correct track wid asha

sony products too). I guess sony gets
                                    enough resources and
                                    teaches android better

I see a lot of people are in love with sony (for good reason) but thier business goes far beyond mobile.

Sony has a lot of divisions that pool in income. Lately they haven't been as successful, but if they get their exclusive titles back i think they'll be fine.

If not, i would hate to see a world without playstation or Columbia films.
