We don't need another mobile OS. Ubuntu mobile OS and THIS will be a niche product for ultra-hardcore geeks; I believe normal developers won't be porting their apps to yet another platform, and having maintenance done on iOS and Android is already enough - The Apps in WP7/8 Marketplace serve as a good example for how much developers despise participating on another OS, even if its from an established software company that aggressively pushes their products onto the market.
TLDR: There is no future for Firefox and Ubuntu OS.

Mozilla have chance with FirefoxOS, let's just wait and see, i really want to see other platforms, WP, Android and iOS are all boring now.

It looks very much like iOS and Apple surely isn't going to like that. It is focused on Web apps and that didn't even work for computers say mobile devices, it is a new platform and there a basically no apps for it, just look how Microsoft which has a lot of investment money struggles to make their mobile platform so popular and how HP failed miserably with the Palm OS platform, how would you expect Mozilla to make it succeed ? it is just another crazy project and iOs and Android are here to stay. With these technical specs, it isn't going to have a long journey.

Its great that new OS's enter but I feel like 512mb is too little. 1gb should be the norm and 2gb for high-end phones.

At first look, it kinda looks very iOS'is because of the icons layout except the fact that its icons are more rounded/circular. :)

Similar to Tizen - this is a bit more stretched, but both use HTML5 apps.
There's far less difference there than there is between this and iOS, that's for sure.

The full OS is a web browser of sorts with all the menus and layouts detailed by xml files. Easy and quick to genrate UI. That is why it used to be called boot 2 gecko. You are booting into the web browser It is way different from all the other Operating systems out there.
I can't believe the amount of ignorance that exists on the internet. :P . Please research before posting next time.
