chocowii, 07 Mar 2013I still cant believe that the laggy XJ can taste Jellybean ... morexperia sola has 512 ram but galaxy S3 mini has 1 gb ram and mali gpu itself needs lot of ram. That's why Sola does not get JB. i think he minimal ram for official JB with mali gpu is more than 512 mb (galaxy ace 2 which has lower processor than sola with the same gpu but has 768 mb ram got JB). if Sola has adreno gpu, i think it will get JB. anyway, let's hope xda will give JB custom for the rest of xperias who did not get JB from Sony

I still cant believe that the laggy XJ can taste Jellybean while the more faster Sola cant. While the Galaxy S3 mini, same specs and NovaThor chipset with Sola, tasted the Jellybean.

Well, let me answer tour inquiry, as to why would the J gry JB Update and the Sola wouldn't, in Sony's own words.
The Sola has Mali400 GPU which is nice, but uses lots of RAM, and the Sola doesn't have aby of these to spare. And Jelly Bean needs a lot of graphics buffer, for all that Project Butter sweetness to shine. So using that much RAM just for the UX animations would leave too little for the OS and your apps. That's why the U won't get JB either (same GPU and as little as 512 MB RAM) and the P will (same GPU, this time though it's coupled with 1 gig of RAM).

TX and S are the once which d... moreWell there's the fact that the Sola is dual core and the J isn't.
And this from GSM Arena's review of the XJ:
"we can't help but notice that this it's not offering the best-bang for buck within its own family. The Xperia U costs the same as the J, matches its resolution and offers more than twice the processing power. The catch here is that it has a smaller screen and only has 6GB of non-expandable storage. Solving that final issue might require you to reach just a little bit deeper in your pocket and get the Xperia sola"
