There exists many variables to influence a drop test and if you are clumsy, you can protect yours with any type of material. What is great in S3 (like with iPhone) exist many many many official and 3rd party accessories to protect, to connect with other devices, etc. Most of the best selling smartphones or not, depending on the surface, conditions or actions can easily break or not.
Gorilla Glass 1 was hard but not unbreakable, Gorilla Glass 2 (in S3) seems more vulnerable than the predecessor, so let's see how Gorilla 3 handles. I think even gorilla glass being commun in almost every smartphone, Dragontail Glass appears more solid. (Sony)

There is simply no point for iOS devices to have quad core right now, because the iPhone (5,4s,4) is capable of running all 800,000+ apps in the App Store, while still maintaining smooth OS experience.
Android needed quad-core to ensure its OS is smooth, and run every apps in the Play Store. Even then, not every quad-core Android phones out there is free of stutter & lag.
Adding quad-core to the iPhone is an overkill, unless there are huge demands from developers that requires quad-core iPhones to run their apps. Quad-core consume more battery, and unless it's fully utilized by the OS itself and apps, it's going to be a big waste, and just another useless bragging point.

To inform you my friend no one buys a phone to bounce it around, the drop test is only to see the durability & SIV will be one of the best durable phone out there.

You must read and know that there are many other things involved after a device is manufactured. OEM can’t sell it with a profit of $10.00 right? If you’d have a smartphone business would you sell it cheap or you’d expect a profit out of it? What you’re saying just out of wholesome cupidity. Once a device is manufactured, many other expenses are involved which I’m sure you’re not aware of kid. It’s not just about Samsung; it’s about every other OEM there. The manufacturing cost will always be lower than the retail cost for the reason that many other operating outlays come in pictures before you can have the device in your hands. There are in-between disbursements from manufacturing until the phone is actually sold.

Samsung has made it this far and they still have a long way to go. I personaly think that the galaxy flagship will dominate in the market for this year and who knows? in the next year to come. Iphone has been a great phone but as of this moment? they're in ditch. Its expensive, then we all know that the features & specs really sucks!. Its an era of quad cores, bigger screen and excellent software innovations. LG, HTC, Sony & Sammy are doing a great job with there phones but as for iPhone? I don't think they stand a change againts these Android Phones. I think sammy will sell more with the s4 than that of the iPhone.
