244$ is the factory price and don't forget there are taxes, employers' salaries, advertising, research ...etc
Saying Galaxy has poor build quality made me laugh because you are so cheap you never own one so you mumbling over it, Galaxy has the best quality build since Samsung are the only one build their own phones completely unlike the rest they build their phones with cheapest materials from Foxccon.
Lumia 920 production cost is 85$ and creaks when holding it and screen breaks spontaneously, Nokia use cheapest plastic and materials, and sell it so cheap 300$ new with no contract so go and buy it, if SIV is too expensive for you don't cry over it.

If at the end iPhone price is higher, in that price is included the overall feel, the brand, customer service(bad things are more often replaced by Apple wether Samsung takes them to be repaired and in exceptional situations replace them) ...etc. PS: For any troll out there I don't own a single Apple product.

Of course that iPhone cost more than Samsung because Apple is not Samsung and Samsung will never be like Apple. All the things and services are better at Apple than at Samsung.

Iphone5's bill of materials costs only $200 and sells to costumers with higher price than S3 or S4. And they call S4 as cheap plastic, where in fact the BOM is higher than iphone.

So not a huge profit overall really, when you take into consideration marketing costs (Which includes but not limited to advertising and sponsorship), employee costs.
