This is stupid idea! Don't buy >5 if you don't want it. I love my Note II and I want 6 or 6,5 display. I don't want to have 100 devices with me. I want one functional device!

Yep, I agree.
I work outside on the farm a lot and store my phone in my pocket. I need a phone with 2000mAh battery. 1.2ghz+ dual core and around 3-3.5" screen. The xperia go nearly gets in, but for its tiny 1300mAh battery

CRAP CRAP SPECS!! they should make at least ONE set having shape and SIZE just like DESIRE C 3.5" and specs of XPERIA U !!! Battery of RAZR like 2000mAh
then it would be called ultimate COMPACT and POWERFUL android set.. i would love to pay for that

My preference would be 4.5" at 720p.
Have the weight saved from having a smaller device going to better build quality or higher capacity battery.

Motorola understands people very well. they are coming with some outstanding devices with mid size screen and high end specs. Here is what Motodesigner Jim Wicks said: "There are some people that like a big display, but there's also a lot of people that want something that's just about right... I think 'just right' is important, and we're designing so we don't disappoint those people."

the specs of phone that i really want is a 5.3 inch with dual core qualcom APQ8064+ 2.0 ghz and a 1.5gb of ram and above average gpu for 1080p 1600 x 2560 of resolution.. that will be so sharp, dont knw how sharp is the ppi yet

the 4.2 inch could be smal for my hand.. but its good for others so it would be ecxactly fit on their hands... and i would choose that tegra 4 cpu. for it is 72 GPU cores.. thats wwwwwwwwwwwoooooowwwwwwwww

To the many readers who want a smaller screen but wouldn't sign because they disagree with the proposed specification, you guys are missing the point.
The point is to make it known to the manufacturers that there is a market with smaller phone without compromise to performance.
Every brand has their preference. Samsung will likely always gives expandable storage and removable battery. HTC will try another aluminum unibody at the expense of the what Samsung gives.
But when top end small screen phone started coming out, only then can we start to choose our own preference.
Here is another matter stopping the manufacturers though;
Samsung for example, would rather brag that it sold 50million S3 than to report 30million of S3 and 20million of S3 mini sold (even assuming both have the same internal and price).

Signed petition couple of days ago. So, I think that Xperia Ray almost falls under "small, stylish yet powerful enough" device description. It's sad that Sony didn't present any successor of such a stylish and interesting device. I absolutely agree that not all people need big screens. Many never watch videos or browse internet on their smartphones, however they still need a flexibility of modern OS in compact, thin and stylish body. Let's see if manufacturers decide to make such device and meanwhile people who don't need a huge screens might look at iPhone 4s, 5 (agree that not everyone can afford iPhone) or Motorola Razr i (4.3 screen in compact body plus excellent battery).
