Does the guy who claims this phone is bad because TCL is a chinese company, who TCL is? Aparently he doesn't. TCL is one of the largest and more important electronics companies in the world. Working in ventures with Samsung, Alcatel and IKEA, just to mention a few. Do you think Alcatel, Samsung and IKEA would allow to "charge with old hardware" any of their products? Come on! One thing is "old hardware" and another is "affordable hardware". At this point of technological advance and market competition is stupid to think "the expensive is the best"...

Alcatel is now a Chinese company, not French. The are charging twice as much as UMI but with old hardware.

that mtk6577 is using 40nm
that's 3 generation old of processor..
40nm-32nm-28nm... now mostly on 28nm, even low end such as lumia 520.

Lucian, 08 May 2013This on Orange is not Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra, but Alc... moreidol and idol ultra are almost the same phone idol has Qhd resolution of display / idol ultra has 720p resolution of display amount of RAM in some countrys is going to be the same and cpu is dual core in both in ultra it is 20% more MHz or in numbers dual core 1.2 GHz > 1.0 GHZ with same GPU. So basicly it is the same phone. and price is ok.
