Actually it was Motorola who first invented a touchscreen phone. The others like Htc and Samsung came next, followed by Apple.

Its a good idea, iphone will be affordable to the mojority and iphone market share will dramatically jump forwad.

Long before when iPhone even did not exist i was using I-Mate with windows mobile on it actually iPhone is a copy of other windows mobile phone

I also bet when they do it the 5 inch will be slimmer in hand and not feel big at all. Actually apple will offer a choice with high end specs. All flagship android devices are one size also between 4.7 and 5 there is no android device with premium specs with 4 inches. So truth is Samsung and the others should enjoy this year because they will be taking a hit next year. And FYI I'm typing this on my galaxy s4 and love SwiftKey. Iphone to cramped for me. But the above are facts not an opinion show me one kick ass four inch android phone please!

Doesn't matter where apple got it, their offering Was the smoothest and most attractive package LG didn't do that neither did Ericson so if it was not for ios android would not be where it's at. So enjoy I'm using the S4 and love it. But I give apple credit for what they brought to the mobile market. Yes tons of companies had done this or that first we can go back and forth all day but no one put it together like apple. Fair game.

Kindly consider paying back XEROX for the IP you stole. It's only the right thing to do.
P.S. Those who contradict, please understand.. You were not at XEROX when we PROUDLY were selling the fruits of our labour. What WE called "The Office of the Future."
With COmputers interconnected via OUR NEWLY created ethernet technology. EACH COmputer user able to have his/her OWN MailBox ( email). Each COmputer user having the ability to allow/disallow others to see them, and or connect. Each having Printers, Mice, and of course our FAMED GUI. All of which Apple STOLE. THEN Decimated OUR market with partial solutions, but selling for 10%! In todays world it seems a Universe away in time. But a few of us were there. It was exciting. New. And GREAT working for XEROX. We were too slow to recognize what we had, and too trusting of young strangers. WHo visited us on that fateful day. Then returned. THose on our ranks are on YOUTUBE even now relating how they knew that ws a mistake. TO take in people with no scruples. And NOT protect our IP. The rest is History.

Apple, bigger screen phone? I know Apple doesn't know produce bigger screen phone. They only know to produce mini phone and a tablet.

Anonymous, 15 Jun 2013samsung and LG both had touchscreens out prior to the iphone.No one is denying that. Like I said before, HTC were the first to make smartphones, way before Samy and LG were even interested in them.
What Apple did was redesign the experience to be smooth and easy. They provided such an amazing customer journey, that everyone else looked cheap in comparison. At the time, no one could provide such a smooth and pleasant interface like Apple. And people should give Apple credit for coming up with the next generation of mobiles.

Only problem - Windows was so clunky and complicated, it didn't take off.
Apple revolutionised the smartphone by making it intuitive and user friendly.

Apple pls remember is not the device fit the hand. Now everyone is talking about the latest hardware quad core.. 8 cores. The fit to hand is no longer a needs market. The screen size and function and design is very much importan. Big screen with high ppi with quad core is minimum requirements for now. Pls let all your supporter come back. I am using samsung s4. But turn off all features because I just need the affordable size of scren and speed. Beat the android market. I believe that. Still waiting for chance to back to ios.
